Now Toyota wants to put a repaired Transmission in my new 4R

Starting to get pissed !! I did not buy a 4R with used parts, took 4R in to report issue at 4Kmi.
Now at 13K they want to replace my tranny with a used one that had only the defect fixed regardless of miles on it. Fot all that I know I could be etting a tranny with 50Kmi on it. This is totally unacceptable !! Told dealer i wanted a new tranny, said none were available, replied"

This sounds like a "contact Toyota Customer care" and "get a second opinion elsewhere" case. I would not accept a used tranny on a 4000 mile old truck. How long have you had the truck? and how come it took them 9000 miles to figure out the tranny needs changed?

Maybe if it was a factory rebuilt tranny it would be better than a factory new because it has been gone through thoroughly?!

Get them to double the drivetrain warranty!

i think you should call toyota customer care.

i dont think receiving a used/fixed transmission is by any stretch of the imagination an acceptable solution to your problem.

they should be replacing the transmission with a new one especially when it has 4000miles on it and the problem was not your own fault.

i think the dealer isnt treating you well or not trying hard enough.

Bzizzi-I am from PA as well and have always taken my trfounduck to New Holland Toyota and found them to be helpful and honest.if you want I can tell you the contact info for the service manager that I like working with.let me know.

I'd have a one word answer for the dealer when he proposed that: Nope.

I assume the transmission is under warranty, correct?

If so, I would be asking for them to show the portion of the warranty which states that they can replace something that fails with a used/repaired/rebuilt unit.

No f-ing way, dude. Stick to your guns. Tell them you'd like to have 100% confidence in your vehicle, but also 100% confidence in the people who are repairing it, without cutting corners.
