But i don't know enough about the LC's yet so i have to do my research, all i know is after i saw the one the other day i fell in love!
That looks WICKED, Jared- friggin awesome, man!
I know exactly what you mean! I have been driving 4Runners for 20 years - and I'm sure I'll drive them another 20 years - but there's something to say about the capabilities of our big brother. I feel like I need one of those in my driveway, too! :thumb:
I entertained the idea of a SAS and a 4 Link set up on the 4th gen, but for similar money I can probably get a decent LC and already have the solid axle set-up. And I get to keep my 4runner as a daily driver! Like you, I need to do some more research on the various LC generations so I know I'm getting the right rig the first time around.
Again, great pics... keep 'em coming!
Jared, I may have overlooked this somewhere, but exactly are those $15 shovel and axe mounts? You know with my 8 month old, $15 is all I can afford:sad:, so they would totally come in handy for the camping trips!
Off topic,, I thought i remember in a old post somewhere about aftermarket UCA's you said you where going to get the Camburg Ball Joint UCA's? If so did you ever end up getting them? I think that's what i'm going with since the east coast winters are going to be too much for Uni Balls..
It's your thread, so I guess you're allowed to go off topic a time or two... HaHa!
No, I haven't made the purchase just yet. I had those pesky 2013 taxes to deal with, so I had to put the Camburg's on the back burner for a few more weeks. I still have another 3 or 4 weeks before the wife will allow me to make another purchase for the 4th gen, but I'll keep you posted as soon they're bought and installed. They are next on my list!
I just picked up a set of the Camburg Ball Joint UCA's. I haven't gotten around to pressing the Moog's into them yet though. I'm hoping there won't be any issues since Camburg says aftermarket Ball Joints have looser tolerances.

Haha yeah i guess,,,
Ahh i don't even wanna talk about taxes :hiding: i get killed in nyc! Yeah i hear i had to take a little brake for a bit too cause every week my wife was wtf really another package! Haha
I am getting the Camburg's as well i'll pry get them soon too,i'm going to get the one's with out the BJ installed and just get them separate to save a few bucks and press them at my buddy's shop at the same time i'm installing my new lift that i don't have yet lol which brings me too that i'm just hoping Metal Tech will have a sale soon enoughray2: They usually have a couple a year so will see if not i'll just have to bite the bullet but that 20% on icon stuff is pretty awesome.I'm getting the Icon extended travel coil overs for the front and the Long Travel kit for the rear I can't wait :boink:
That's sounds like a damn good game plan! As for me, I am done with modding the 4th gen after we buy/install the Camburg/Moog UCA's. Well, maybe a set of sliders but then we're definitely done! HaHa!
I need to start setting aside some money for the LC purchase. I can't continue beating the life out of my 70K mile 4Runner on the trails, so I really need a purpose built, solid axle rock crawler. Plus, I still owe like $10K on the 4Runner so I gotta make this baby last as long as possible.
I'm looking forward to your continued build project... keep us posted as you spend all the wife's money on more mods! LOL!
Keep it comin', Jared! Every update keeps getting better and better, man! Oh how I wish I could do the Satoshi.....:cry2:.......I've lost every bit of confidence in attempting to do so, as many strongly WARN against doing it on the '03-'05s. Unless I was able to find a replacement grill at an unbeatable price, at which point I could experiment all dam* day! Haha.
