NYC-Runner Build Thread

Plenty of guys run BL's i just don't i know anyone who's done a 2" one .. Absoluteyoda is running a 1.25" and Eliamkov(probably misspelled that lol) is running a 1.5" and a lot of others but i think you'll be the first 2" and I'm sure it's gonna sit up nice !:thumb:
Ya, I'll be the guinea pig! :-D All else fails, everyone will know not to do it! It's definitely going to sit up there though.
Sorry for hijacking your thread BTW. Wasn't my intention. Lol

How are your generals in the snow? im in need of new tires soon and since we get a crazy amount of snow out here they are on the top of my list cuz you can put studs in them. Also where did you get your rear sway bar links?

I ran them all last winter and they did great in the snow and it was a pretty rough winter for the north east we got a good amount of snow! I would definitely recommend them!

I got the sway bar from a member on here MStudt he has a thread in the classified section. I think i might has shared a link on the last page?

well?

Wheres the new setup pix? Pls upload, I dig your rig!

How'd you like your buddy's 5th gens? Does it make you want one at all?
The silver trails are really growing one me lately.

I don't have it installed yet:( , my buddy who's also my mechanic is out of commission right now and will be for the next couple of weeks, I almost did it a couple of weeks ago with someone else but i ran into a bad wheel bearing so kinda screwed up the weekend! Also my schedule hasn't been the best between work, summer vacays, kids etc.. So hopefully I'll be getting it done in the next couple of weeks, it sucks to just having this stuff sitting here but at the same time I haven't really had any time to get any wheeling in. Other than that got my AOR bumper on order and I'm gonna plasti dip the runner soon.

Love the 5th Gens especially CBAilet's,, nice rig and we'll built! I originally wanted one before I got my 4th Gen but just couldn't swing it at the time. Still might get one down the road someday? The trail editions are awesome especially with the factory rear locker :thumb3:

Plasti dipped the 4runner today. Stuck with the same color or aluminum in the plasti dip world. I think it came out pretty good! It's definitely not perfect but over all I'm happy with the results. I used 4 gallons, over all I think I put about 8 coats on.I think if I were to do it again I would use 5 or 6 just to get the extra added coats! The 4runner ate up the 4 gallons like nothing and I didn't do the whole roof because I didn't remove my rack. Prep is definitely key as is carefully removing the tape and everything. Also shot out to J053619 who helped me thanks bro! Here's a couple pics

Prep all done

Haha already threw up the pics! This came out real clean, throw up pics on dipyourcar.com, people will love em over there.

DUDE!:wow::wow: WICKED!! And here I was thinking there wasn't much else you could do to your rig cosmetically. Super nice touch, man.

And you did this DIY???

If I may, total cost of the plasti??

Thanks man, Yeah i'm really happy with how it turned out! Oh there's always more you can do :naughty: I can't wait to see how it's gonna look with the new bumper :boink:

Yeah i bought the gallons off DIC.com and J053619 had the spray gun. I think you get the whole DIY kit off Dipyourcar.com for around $400-$500. Really not bad at all considering to do a vinyl wrap will cost $2000 - $3000

Finally got the suspension in today!!! With a Huge help from Absoluteyoda ! Took most of the day, for the most part it's went pretty smooth except for the rear LT springs they were a Pita because they were soo long so we had to get some spring compressors to compress them to fit them in. I originally wanted to run the 1.5 Daystar spacer on the driver side with a 1" on the pass but because they were giving us such a hard time I just kept the 1" spacers on both sides.Other than that it look great and rides even better! I didn't adjust the fronts yet just installed them as they came I'm waiting to get my bumper hopefully this coming month and then once that's on I will re adjust the coilovers. I still have to do the ext brake lines and ext bumpstops as we ran a little short on time. Off to get a alignment tomorrow morning. In the meantime here's a couple quick cell pics that I took.
