Me to buddy! At this point i'm just going to be happy to see it in tow behind the truck and know that were going camping and wheeling! No but seriously i'm enjoying the build process and learning a lot, it's going to be a sweet addition to the 4runner!
Thanks bud, I don't know are we allowed to do that there? I hadn't thought about it, like i said to Chris i'll be happy if it's 80-90% done by FJNE and i can use it to camp and sleep in! I still have a laundry list of shit to do on the truck before then to and this is cutting into the funds and the time for that as well.
I was talking to Rich and i think were going to swap out my F&R at his place in a few weeks, that'll be a big step for sure! I was also speaking to him about towing the trailers at MOTL but i don't think he wants to bring them to that event? IDK this is going to be my first year so i don't know what it's going to be like? Oh and were also set for NHOC also we just still need to think what are cleverly ridiculous name is going to be haha Stoked for that too! Going to be a busy season

If it was me I'd take the trailer on some green trails half a day on Thursday (less crowded) It'll give you some practice and knowledge of any adjustments you might need. Last thing you want is to take it deep in to Maine and brake down. Also you can park it at RC parking lot when you're done with it.

Yeah that's a good idea, but wait are you allowed to bring trailers on the trails at Rausch? I'll have to look into that. I'm definitely going to bring it to NHOC if it's the same way it was last year with the first and last day being at the same location.

Eric my co pilot from last year. His bringing his "Caugh jeep Caugh" :hiding: haha Na but its a beast though. That thing climbs over just about anything he points it at and laughs at stuff i gotta work at to get thru :sad: I think are team name is going to be " Can't we all just get along" or " Anything you can do i can do better"
might be too long idk? i thought about " Classic Rivalry" also but i just think its sounds way better hearing Ryan saying some ridiculous team name everyday haha But Chris and Alex are teaming up together to so we'll probably all run together.

I received my Blue Torch Fab weld on diff cover a couple days ago and got a chance to weld it up today. You can get it two different ways, one it already comes pre welded ( all on piece) for a little more $ or you can get it in three separate pieces and weld it all together yourself yourself. I opted to get it in three separate pieces since I have a welder now and figured I'd save myself a few bucks. As always I'm never the best at taking before or even during pictures for that matter but I few a few of the finished result. It fits nicely around the rear pumpkin and is solid at 1/4" this thing can will definitely be able to take some hits! I did have to cut off two tabs at the top of the pumpkin which are used to hold the hard break line and the soft line right above that. No biggie I can either tack it back on or find another solution, but that's the only thing I ran into.

Installed my 4crawler 1" body lift yesterday. Install was simple and straightforward. Happy with the overall lift height of everything now but really It's fir the extra added clearance for when I size up to 35's.
I also got the lid of the trailer all skinned up. Man this lid is a lot of freakin work! A lot of welding, and I still have to finish grinding everything! The original piece of sheet metal I got for the top ended up being a few inches to short so we decided to cut it back more so we could butt another piece up to it over one of the crossbars. Sucks that we had to seam it together but what can you do,once it's grinded down and everything's painted you won't be able to see it anyways. Here's a few pics of the progress.

I got the new axle, wheels and tires mount up on the trailer this past weekend. I accidentally ordered the wrong leaf springs from rockauto and the ended up being to long so I had to mount the old ones up for now. I ended up running out of time on making the new extended tongue.

Finally it's mobile! Got the extended tongue finished up yesterday and took it out for a spin in the neighborhood to see how it feels. Tows great I could barely tell it was back there, tracks perfect behind truck. The tongue looks a little long right now but I wanted to make sure the was enough space to mount a spare tire and tongue box plus once I add the rear bumper to the truck with swing out tire carrier I think everything going to be perfect. Still have a ton of work to do,paint, mount the lid, tailgate, mount and wire up the lights but at least it's rolling!

Spoken like a true fabricator... Weld the 2 pieces together, grind the weld down, throw some paint on it, and you'll never know.... LOL... For you just starting to weld and taking a project on like this, I say you have done a MIGHTY FINE JOB.
By what I see as far as your axle to box position, your spare and lock box will be your tongue weight on the ride.

Yeah where you been man? I haven't seen you since you got you bumper. You can can just build up like that and then not deliver,,, with wheeling pics and stuff!! Haha Thanks man this trailer has been kicking my but but it's been a fun learning process!
Haha you know it! Thank bud appreciate it. As I said above this trailers been kicking my butt weekend after weekend but I'm finally starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel. I think I would be as stressed about it if I didn't have a 4 day camping/wheeling trip planned in the end of April lol so that's going to be the shake down run for the trailer. It's not going to be 100% finished by then but will at least be campable ( is that a real word
) but yeah the spare and tong box should tie in nice and add a little extra weight up there. I think I'm still going to cut the tongue down a little and try to match the same distance as the wheels on the truck. I've been told that will give me the best results for towing and off reading with it.

Got the lid fitted up yesterday and primed everything. Now all that's left to do is the lights, latches, paint and rack for the RTT.

Correct, you don't want it to be too long, like having problems like a long wheel base truck, but, not too close if you have to back up and need to jack knife for turns.

That trailer is pretty awesome! I really wish I had a welder so I could do some fab work on my rig. That is going to be my next tool purchase.
Did you do the plasti dip yourself or have it done professionally. It looks really good and I love that color. I've been thinking of doing mine, but I get nervous because of all the trees around here. If they can scratch the paint on the oem finish, I feel like it would just rip chunks off. Do you have any experience with it?
