Pulled out my OME 890s and installed LC 8-wraps @ 263,812K and gained 2" in the rear.
With a full tank of gas and no humans, I measure 40" to the middle of each rear fender flare. Previously it was 38" driver/38-1/2" passenger.
The 890s were 17" and 17-1/2" uncompressed, the passenger side coil was taller; installer error?
The LC coils are 19" and 19-1/2" uncompressed and I installed the taller one on the driver side.
The pic below is with a full tank of gas and light load in the rear

Net result of the LC coil swap: too tall in the rear for my taste, but I'll drive it for a while and see if they settle down some.
Now the good news
Looks like the driver's side rear axle seal is leaking, so I cleaned that up some and will add axle seals and bearings to the list o' future maintenance.
That's quite a bit of rake. Still looks good! I can just imagine 8.75 wraps.
A new rear bumper would fix things.:wink2:
I was gonna say that makes your butt look big, but it's HOT!!
Nice job kid!

Sweet, I will. Thanks!I just acquired all the tools/press for this bearing job. Look me up when you are ready, I'm in Santa Clarita.
Cheap OEM bearings !

These coils are not progressive so I would imagine that will just make them sag, but i would love to relocate that spare tire someday
Haha, kid. That's adorable

Good to see you start a build thread. I'm about to swap TO the 890 rear springs myself. The 906 springs I have now are too low (when loaded) for me.
Did you get anything figured out with the RPM issue?
Where did you get the LC coils? How's the ride compared to the 890's? I have the OME 890's now along with RTT on top and get a lot of sag when loaded up on long trips. Unloaded, it sits fine.
Thanks...

You may also want to consider airbags or later gen (4th or 5th) OEM rear springs.Any pics of the 906's installed? I've been looking at all of the info within the 3rd gen forum, my '99 has saggy butt and I want to fix it and gain a bit of extra weight capacity WITHOUT having a "lifted" look. I personally like the stance of the '99, I don't want or need to go any higher.
Apologies for the mini-hijack.

906 are 2 inch lift, 890 are 3" lift
891 are 3" lift and can accommodate 100# over stock before sagging
My 890s have about 100K on them and sagged about 1"
All three of these are progressive springs, the LCs are not and will sag and rebound consistently across the load range
RPM issue is random and intermittent, so far today it has been fine but it stalled in parking lot on Saturday
Maybe it's an ignitor issue *head scratch emoji*
I picked up the LC coils from another forum member who got them loose with his truck when he bought it, he had not run them and mileage is unknown, but they looked pretty good (not scratched or rusted and minimal paint mark chipping)
They have not been on the truck long enough for me to have an opinion about ride quality.
Have you considered 891s?
Cleghorn is rated Most Difficult on all maps I've seen, and yes, I passed it on 138 on the way back. I'm leery to do anything too challenging solo at this point.Pilot Rock is fun and like you said the best part is you basically choose how difficult you want to make it. It’s a great spot to cut your teeth on easy & moderate trails. Cleghorn Trail is nearby and the two trails often get run together since you can take a short pavement connector on highway 138. I’ve ran it going east to west from the Tejon Pass off the 15 freeway. The SoCal section has a dedicated thread on Cleghorn Trail if you want to keep an eye out for last minute runs in that area.
