Hmm. Just starting. Mostly they start making noises before ply shows up. Interesting. Especially the wheel bearings.

Weekend Update 259,595
Lots of wheeling since my last update
Broke a few things along the way...
Popped a sidewall on a 1-year old Cooper ST MAXX on some road debris. Swapped to my spare and looked at my Tire Rack receipt, they included a 2 YEARS FREE WARRANTY. Long story short, their insurance bought me a new tire. Check your tire purchases, I forgot that value add, but it actually worked and cost me literally nothing. Thank you Tire Rack . com :clap2:
Broke another CV on the driver side this weekend, I have all the parts on hand to rebuild my Toyota CVs, just need to dedicate the time to this "project" lol
Bushings on my Tundra Billies are cracking and it may be time to swap them out. Rebuilt Icon 2.5 CDCVs standing by along with [MENTION=28464]eimkeith[/MENTION] STR and limit strap mounts - front sway bar going away.
Another pending update will be exhaust, adding a resonator and down turn exit - I will rotate it to 5:00 to direct gas down and away from the undercarriage towards the passenger rear.

Next will be the rear/cargo area - I need more practical storage for wheeling/camping but I will NOT be building a platform (I will in the 80, however) instead I will be maximizing the use of the rear sides above the wheel wells, molle panels over the rear windows (along with darker tint) and an overhead storage shelf/area. The main goals for the cargo mod:
The rest of the space will be modular, leveraging crates for tools, camping supplies, cooking supplies, etc. and will be swapped between the 4runner and the 80. The goal is to make it easy to sleep in the 4runner, which I can easily as long as the space is available lol
At the same time as the Cargo Project, the rear seat project will commence, which entails making best use of the mid vehicle space while still allowing the seats backs to separate the passenger compartment from the cargo area, but still allowing the seat backs to fold down, allowing me to sleep in the rig.
Oh, and I got tired of hitting my head on a sold grab handle so this went above the driver door
The never ending project continues, and about to hit 260K, yay!

- Second/rear Battery
- Rear Power Distribution/Charging (100W solar on roof secondary charge)
- On board Air Compressor (dual chamber Napa pump)
- Air Distribution (manifold for tires, tools, etc)
- Off Road Jack (skidded) Mount
- 4runner-specific Parts Storage

Great to see this still going. Interesting that you got an 80, I got a 60. I'm putting 80 axles under it though which is a ton of work. So work on the 4runners has had to slow down a bit. I made a rack on one side of the back of the 4runner that goes from the back, forward to about where the seat bottom would start. It won't allow a seat in that side but if need be, a seat could be added on the other side. Most of the time though I keep that seat out so I can sleep in the open side. It works with one person, not 2...
Will you put in an air receiver tank? I'd want one for blowing dust off the car. I was thinking of using a used tank from one of those cheap hot dog compressors that doesn't work anymore; problem is, I can't find one that doesn't work anymore LOL.

Land Cruisers are fun, it's like buying a bigger boat and not selling the starter boat, two money pits appear.

Made an "alignment rack" and aligned the rig, boy was it off, lol

I am going an EcoCrawler, I'm just building it out of 2 donor cases, keeping my stock t-case intact
I'll be swapping trans at the same time (more on that later)

I'm going to go with the offset Triton triple.
I have a buddy that is building himself a 4.7 box using TG adapter plates and Rad Designs triple sticks. We are in a crawl-off of sorts lol

Sounds familiar...both have their merits...curious to see what your thoughts will be with some of that required multiple tests stuff.
For the radesigns I separated, then stitched together the two original boots and 2 out of junkyard Chevy Impalas
For the Triton my husband did the same, I think with the same boot choices.

Similar to Hab & JohnMc (that's Hab's husband) I will be making udders for my shifters out of other donors at the junkyard - OR I will make them from scratch, building a pattern out of my existing shifter boot setup and adding extra
