OEM 4runner fog light 96-98?

Yea my left side lens was busted, then when I disassembled the right side lens, it's basically fell apart in my hands. I need to replace them but am having a hell of a time finding anything that looks like it will work easily.

Even the circular hella lights seem to mount from the bottom and since the mount point on the bumper is straight back, I don't see how that would work.

The 8010 and the 8011 will both mount and look factory.

They bolt into the factory location. I put one style on my SR5 and the other on the Puppy Hauler. I went and used Pachard weather pac connectors on them.
I recommend replacing the relay for them it’s located beside the battery. Also if you hear the relay click when you unplug and plug it in swap the two hot wires on the relay base. The smaller wire should operate the relay coil and the fat wire should power the lights.

Yea, I'm kind of going for a "stock" look or whatever. I may add an LED bar or something in the future, but just want to get something to fill those spots for the time being.
Dude you saved my bacon with the Pachard weather connectors...I had never heard of those but exactly what I needed.

You can buy them pre-made with 6” leads or build them yourself. You need the special crimper to make them on your own. It’s a standard GM weather proof connector from the 80’s, 90’s, and into the 2000’s.
I forget which model light I have. But I’ll say I love it. I loved it even more when I fixed the wire harness for the fog lights so the bulbs got power from the relay and battery instead of sharing power from the low beam circuit. It defiantly made them brighter. I guarantee your harness is wired wrong. If it’s not I’ll be surprised.

Bumping this up because I just ordered my 98 bumper to put on my "new" 2000, and it came with these factory fog lights which I guess is pretty rare. I am assuming it would be a giant pain in the ass to make them work, but if I put a switch in one of the blanks, what else would I need to do to wire them,? I don't even need the fogs, just seems silly to have them and not be able to turn them on.

Believe it or not the early years were a kit. As there is not any factory wiring in the rig for them. 1996 and 1997 pu had the dealership add on. It works off a add on switch and the wiring harness connects to the battery and fused. My 1997 5 speed has a set on them.

I just found this out. Some guy on ebay has the original wiring harness with switch too, but he wants 100 bucks.

Considering the time it takes to harvest from junkyards, and the cost of aftermarket stuff you have to retrofit, $100 for factory plug and play is cheap.

Your '00 is pre-wired for fog lights. The right light stalk (Camry, Solara, Sienna, ES300, etc. all have compatible ones), a relay and fuse will get you fog light power at the connectors below the headlights. Put a connector on there between the '98 fogs and '99+ harness and you are done.

You are a wealth of information, thank you very much. I think I've owned three vehicles with fog lights and have never once used them, but it seems extra silly to have them in the bumper and at least not be able to work.
My 4Runner is the super bare Bones model, do you think it still came pre-wired? I would like to do that much more than having to run all new wires with a dash switch.

Yes, take a look for a small oval connector on each side on the inner body panel behind the bumper (taped up to the harness that goes to the turn signals). The fuse box should have a spot for a Fog Light relay and fuse. Then you just need the right light stalk.

The factory fogs only operate with the headlamps on. There is a mod that allows their operation exclusive of the headlamps.
