OEM Audio + 5th Gen 4Runner audio system

Can you people who have installed post up some more pics of the sub enclosure?

I just wish they found a way to integrate it in the open space that actually exists on the right hand side, where all the people who make custom sub enclosures actually put theirs.

It takes away valuable (however small) cargo space in the rear, when it could be better utilized in the open gap that already exists!!

Would love to hear this system in person, my 2016 SR5 system is worse than my 2008 SR5 base system.

With out a doubt!! I have spent far more on other mods that I was not pleased with and was not afraid to say it to warn other buyers.

Everyone who has been in my vehicle since the install always comments on the sound quality. I see you are in the Southeast, if you are near Charlotte, NC I would be more than happy to let you hear the system (that also goes for anyone else in the area that would like to hear it). Everyone has a different opinion on sound and what they like. I for one am very pleased with it.

Yeah, I would never falsely boast about a mod that blows just because it cost a lot of money. I'd prefer to not let others go through the heartache of wasting the money. Empathy and all that.
 
$1600 doesn't seem unreasonable considering the R&D and work that goes into it to make it a true drop in plug and play upgrade. Developing and making the molded subwoofer enclosure, wiring harness, and Making it easy to install (from the installation video it looks very easy to install) takes a lot of work.

If one were to acquire all the same components, wiring, and connectors, and build it yourself you might save some money but you wouldn't have as clean an installation and it might end up costing more money depending on what your time is worth.

Plus the kit maintains your factory warranty.

Curious though... doesn't yours have two outlets? On their website, there's an image of their subwoofer installed and it's clearly obvious that there are outlets on the passenger side.

Their website states under features:
Vehicle factory warranty remains completely intact

Any idea if that's guaranteed? I always thought that adding anything to a stock system would void the warranty - this kit plugs into the stock radio.

It does, but as you can see the 'Mustang' enclosure posted, it retains the plug outlet access which is most important to me.

But I guess you're right in that IF the OEM+ was unable to use the open cargo space that goes basically into the wheel well space, it would very well cover both outlets.

I doubt it's guaranteed not to void your warranty, but it's also unlikely that it'd result in a valid warranty denial. Legally, per the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975, your warranty can only be denied if the dealer can prove that the modification caused the problem. Installing a plug and play system is much less likely to cause problems than splicing in a system, and will be much harder for a dealership to validly deny a warranty claim. Of course, if your warranty claim was denied, you'd then have a claim against OEM Audio + because their product damaged your vehicle.
 
I'm about to pull the trigger, but would love to see a few more pics of the sub enclosure from some members that have installed it. How well does it actually match the factory trim? Surely someone here took some pics during install...

After having the system on for 3 full days here are my thoughts:

Cost: it seems expensive vs a diy system but after considering the research time, extra accesories, install time and tuning time the price difference woud be minimal. How much is your time worth? Install alone would be double the time since you would need to splice and wire up the radio deck and speaks vs the pkug and play system.

Customer service: probly one of the best customer service experience ive had in any company.

Sound: The clarity of the system is unmatched for its price. I have a Lexus Isf with theupgrade Mark Levinson syatem and this beats it. With the oem system, i had to have the treble and mid range fully up just to have "decent" sound. I can hear all aspects/sounds of the song. Its like watching a movie on regular tv vs going into the movie with surround sound. I have caugth myself staying in the truck extra even after parking just listening to the music.

Overall: So far the ONLY negative thing has been the price. If you care about music/sound, do yourself a favor and look into it. Im in the Inland Empire and if anyone wants to listen send me a msg and we can meet up.

Ohh, i got the full system..Yes including the front 6x9..
