OEM Tires

We have a 2011 SR5. I just removed the OEM tires. I think the vehicles in 2011 came with Dunlop or Bridgestones depending on model. Can anyone tell me what the SR5's originally came with? Model, etc. From my searching I think they might have been Bridgestone Dueler HT 684 II. I didn't like the tires, but I wanted to have this info in case my Mrs doesn't like her new tires. I got the BFG AT KO Load range E hoping they'll last. My truck has done great with BFG, but the load E might be too load. I didn't think there was an issue, but we'll see what her reaction is.

Has anyone tried the Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10's? There was a great deal on them, but I have never used Hankook.

OEM tires could be Dunlop or Bridgestone. You put load range E on a vehicle that does no off roading? The ride will be MUCH stiffer and the bumps harsher.

I'm pretty sure they were Bridgestone, can anyone confirm the model of both types?

I have no experience with the Hankooks... I've had Firestone A/T's, Bridgestone Revos, Cooper AT's and several others. I had good experience with each of the tires just mentioned. I recently put Cooper AT3's on my 4Runner a couple weeks ago and already have 1500+ miles on them. For the short time I've had them they handle great, they are incredibly quite for an AT tire, and as a bonus I think they look fantastic. I wouldn't dream of putting E rated tires on my wife's Honda Pilot or any other vehicle she drives. I certainly wasn't interested for myself either and I actually get my vehicles offroad some. Those E rated tires are meant to be used and abused. Some of the guys here need them or just simply want them. I would look at something else for her. Even the OEM tires are just fine for 99% of us, but many of us choose to put something on for looks and/or that are just a little better. I've run on the Dueler HT's and put a few hundred miles on the Grandtreks and they were fine. I wouldn't take them off my wife's vehicle with them because they would do everything she needs them to do. Take a peak and search tires and you will come up will all kinds of things to read up on. It sounds like you want to have the option of showing the wife, "see, same as before".

If you were to make an aftermarket purchase of the nominally "identical" tires, they will likely be a little different than OEM, but you may like them better.

They'll probably have better traction traded off against rolling resistance that is not as low as the spec Toyota ordered. Tread life may be better, too.
