So, after hosting my first 3rd Gen Get-Together, I'd have to say it was a pretty cool day. The TBU for Jay went pretty good for the most part. Jay wanted to replace a couple rear brake lines and one of the brake line connections was welded on there. We came up with a fix, but that delayed things a bit for us. Then, because of my screw-up of not tightening the brake line connection enough to the front passenger brake caliper we were wondering why the brakes still felt soft after bleeding them. Well, we were loosing pressure due to the connection leaking. After tightening the connection and re-bleeding the brakes, his brakes felt great and we were finally done.
The next job we were suppose to do was an upper control arm and spring replacement for [MENTION=94292]Patriot12[/MENTION]. But, I somehow didn't get the memo he has a 5th Gen, not a 3rd Gen. We started the job late in the day and immediately ran into some issues getting the lower shock bolt loose and then realized there was too much pressure on the bolt. The KDSS system added some confusion to the whole thing so we chose to quit on this job until we have the right information and more time to get the job done right. Sorry Paul. I wish we could have knocked this out for you, but I'm glad I met you and hopefully we can help you get this done in the near future.
I know I was busy wrenching and didn't get as much time as I would have liked to hang out with Y'all, but everyone who showed up seemed very cool and you are definitely invited back to my place the next time I host another meet-up.
Here's my thoughts for the next one. I think it would be better if we just focus on one repair or mod for the day. This way if there's something that hangs us up, which there's usually something that does, we won't be pressed for time and stressing about getting to the next rig. What do you guys think about this?
