Did you click the link? the first google image result is a 3rd gen with bronze konig wheels. I'm just giving you a hard time.

Yea haha I know, just bickering back. Dang I can't believe your remember, it's all back together and it's cleaner than ever (on the inside). While I had literally everything out I added some sound deadening. The most harm that was done was I had to buy a new starter, I had to pressure wash my interior, and my passenger head light is all delaminated. The wheel wells still have mud stains though..... I hate mud

Repainted my stock wheels...
Used Dupli-color primer, Silver Duplicolor Wheel Coating, Silver, 11 oz. Aerosol HWP101: Advance Auto Parts, and clear-coat.
They turned out very nicely. I am happy with the outcome.
I painted them without tires on. Once they cured I had the new tires mounted.

So the hammered metal has held up very well but in the mean time I attempted to sand down my stockers. They were pretty far gone (esp from the PO). Anyhow, found a sandblast service who blasted and primed for $30 a wheel. Couldn't beat it and they did a fantastic job tho Im not sure if I really wanted them to prime the outside diameter. I'll wait til temps hit 70 here in NE and hit them with rattle can.

Paint issues
Guys, I'm having issues with the paint on my hub caps. I have cleaned the caps with soap and water. I wet sanded after that. Then I cleaned the caps with acetone. The primer keeps cracking on the caps. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? I'm using krylon max primer. Could it be the primer? I took this cap and sanded down the cap again and repeated the steps above with the same results. I will try and attach a pic.:shrug:
