Bought a 2015 Limited a year ago. No mods to speak of. Nice ride.
MPG could be better; but at the current prices, not an issue. I have to commute
to San Luis Obispo, CA couple of times a year, (Live in PA) and really prefer to take this:

Gets 33MPG, and although a great ride; in rain or heat the "Runner" would be a bit more comfortable.....and you can sip your favorite beverage while you drive.

I have grown to love the Runner; but I still love to ride!

Would love to have Ural, but $10-12k would buy me a lot of other bikes that are better in just about every way. Plus I already have a great running Yamaha I-4 cruiser ('86 Maxim 700) that is just begging for some new relevance in this modern world, and a custom mounted sidecar is on the wishlist.

Ural?! Yeah great to throw on a trailer and tow to were you wish to crawl around; but don't think you will go far at highway speeds for too many miles before you suffer a breakdown. Indeed it will fail on the trail too. Bring your SPOT or Sat Phone.

Been riding BMW's for over 300,000 miles, and never a mechanical issue.

Well there lies the conundrum - both are wonderful in their own way!
While it is fun to "tootle around SLO"; I built the rig primarily for the trails
in and around SW Colorado and the outback of Wyoming.

So maybe I should hang a ramp on the Runner and have the best of both!

Pal, I have blasted across this Country so many times my shadow is perminatly in the pavement. Of the over 300,000 mile 85% is on two wheels!

Now if you wish to race, let me know. I'll take you on HW1 from San Simion to
Big Sur.

I have somewhere in that vicinity for total miles ridden on Motorcycles, too.

I love the PCH. It's San Simeon, BTW.

Which of my streetbikes should I bring? The seriously hopped-up and lightened Hayabusa, which is like an only slightly heavier GSXR1000, with nearly twice the power.

Or maybe the '15 S1000RR, with only light mods in comparison. It does have heated grips and cruise control.

Racing on open-to-the-public roads is for fools, though. I prefer to push the envelope on track, where any miscalculation won't involve innocent people out for a relaxing drive. Or maybe head on over to the Isle of Man TT, I'm signed up this year..

I've ridden the PCH a bunch of times. I'm well aware of what the road consists of.

I always get a laugh out of guys that think a 'Busa is only good for running in a straight line, or turning it into a blinged-out monstrosity. In every case I've encountered so far, those that think that, have never ridden one. Let alone one that weighs significantly less than stock, has the suspension and brakes revamped, and an engine which while making far more power than stock, has less gyroscopic effect due to a lightened rotating assembly.

I recall a guy I knew on another website. He could certainly talk fast. He was always challenging people to races on the street. The best was when he challenged a well-known person in the Motorcycling community in-particular, to a race. His boasting was at it's peak. Then the logistics were worked out by the Members of the website so it could happen. Suddenly he had lots of excuses.

A couple years later he actually went on a group ride with members from the website. His riding ability proved to be fairly mediocre, and in fact he was the only one that crashed when he target-fixated on a gentle bend in the road. All caught on video, and posted to Youtube.

Yep, the IOM TT is a bucket list item for me. Always wanted to try it, and have finally decided to do so.
