OME 884 Springs V6

Anyone out there own a V6 with a full OME lift, using 884 springs up front? I dont plan on getting a bumper, winch, or anything like that. just normal weight, no towing or anything. i just dont see much about the 884 springs but thats what slees recommends. they say the 884 provides 3" of lift up front (with no additional weight) because they provide more lift than they say they do according to ben at slees. just want to make sure that going with the 884 is the way to go vs getting the 885. He thought the 885 would provide too much lift, and be too stiff, but i was told it would be ok from other companies so it makes me concerned! any help is appreciated.

as far as ive heard the 884s will give less lift than the 885 since its slightly shorter.. maybe he suggested the 884 if your going to reuse the stock shocks, since i assume you want a closer to stock ride. most that get the 885 also get the ome shocks since they're meant to work together, sometimes mixing one brand of coils & a different brand shock dont work out. id say exspect 2.5 not 3 in lift. all though this link is for tacos, you can get some idea of the ome spring rates. 2005 Toyota Tacoma OME (Old Man Emu) spring rates and lift height - Toyota Tacoma Upgrades

I use the 884's. Works fine with the stock bumper. Ride on the road is a little firmer than stock(I think it rides much better than stock). thanks toyata! actually i was planning on doing an all ome setup, but im not sure about the front springs. toyata, how much lift would you say the 884's gave you? did you run the rest of your set up all OME? i just see conflicting things about the 885's and 884's. Slee offroad said they use the 885's on V8's with a bumper to achieve a 3 inch lift, and wouldnt use 885's on a V6 with no bumper as it would lift too much and cause alignment issues. does this sound right?

Please let us know what you do and how it turns out. I'm thinking of getting the same setup from Slee this spring. My impression is they really know what they're talking about and won't steer you wrong. I had them install some sliders last year and they did a great job at a reasonable price for me.

I would think the 884's would give a stock rig about 2.25 to 2.5 inch's of lift.
We don't recommend the 885's with no additional weight up front either.

So I would agree with Slee.

thanks for your help! i know these threads are beat to death! so maybe the 884's with a 1/2 or 3/4 inch spacer from you guys? see i want 3" of lift up front to help level out that factory rake.

thanks for help on the search. i actually already found those, but its difficult to find someone who has a v6, who has done the lift with 884's and can tell me if its high enough or if you need a small 1/2 or so spacer.

We normally see the V6 4th generation 4-Runners raise 3" in front and 2.75" in rear with the 884 and 895 combo on a stock vehicle. We have found the OME listed heights to be on the low side and have measured/installed quite a few.

i guess OME are highly under rated? they list this lift as 1.5-2 inches, but it actually achieves 3 inches with no spacer?
 
i know u have the v6 not v8 but if three in. frt lift is what your after, & 884 & 885 have the same rate but the 885 is longer & gives 1/2 more lift, read what these guys say about them with the stock bumper. the guys at toyota120 pretty much know they're stuff. in my opinion either would be good. Yes, OME all around, I don't remrmber what stock height was, but now I have about 22" from the center of the wheel to the bottom of the fender up front and about 24" in back. I think if I were to do over again, I would get the 885's in front. Its not that stiff in front.

I just had 884's installed on my stock '07 V6 by Ben at Slee. After install it was prob a tiny bit over 3" and now that it has settled (after a couple weeks and ~500 miles driving on/off road) i'd say it's still pretty damn close to 3" for sure. i just recently posted some pics on the tire/lift sticky thread.

honestly, from a lot of the research i did on this forum before i decided to go with 884 instead of 885, it seems that people that are running 5100's as opposed to an OME shock get higher amounts of settling with the 884's. i paired the 884's with OME 90021's up front.
 
I am having 885/895s with OME shocks installed on my 2008 v6 this week. Was going to go with 884, but Mule expedition outfitters strongly suggested 885 instead. I am adding sliders and new skids as well as onboard air in the engine bay, so some extra weight. I am also getting new UCAs to ensure proper alignment. Mule suggested 884s would result in significant rake and I wanted the truck to sit closer to level. They suggest 887s or 886s for a bumper/winch.
 
Im running 885/895. V6 with bumber and winch. I like the height, but i do have a lot of driver side lean which is annoying.

Will be super-interested to see the end result on this. Was planning on 884s (on 1st notch, existing 5100s) OR 885s (set to 0) and superflexes in the rear to compensate for recently installed SW front bumper and incoming sliders. Seems like UCAs might be in my future as well with either option, will go with SPC if that's the case.

Here is the result -- 2008 V6 4Runner with OME 885/895 with nitrochargers sitting on 275/70 KO2s. Still waiting on the Victory Sliders and Rack, but happy with it so far.

I know that this is in the 4th gen forum but this was the closest thread I could find to for what I am looking (didn't want to start a new thread); I figured that someone could help me out.

I have a 5th gen (2016) Limited and was wondering whether I should go for 884/895E or 885/895

I'm looking to get about 2.5" - 3" up front, and 1.5" - 2" in the rear.
