OME 890 + LC80 Shocks = Springs falling out at full droop?

Hi guys,

Just wrapping up a complete rear axle job on my 2000, and while it was out, I switched over to OME 890s and new OEM LC80 Tokico black shocks

I am noticing that under full droop, I can basically remove the springs by hand with a little force. I have the jounce bumpers installed as well (although I cut 2 donuts out)

Anyone else run 890s with LC shocks experience this?

That's very common with 890/891's (906's as well) The free height of that coil isn't long enough to keep it in the coil bucket with the longer FJ80 shocks. Some people have mounted the rubber cone that goes in the top of the spring to the frame so it guides the spring back to where it's supposed to be once the suspension compresses back

Great idea. I could probably use flat bar stock and the hole on top of that cone to fab a retainer for the cone. Should at least keep the spring from leaving this zip code on a trail

Just some information about Jounce bump stops. Where did you buy it and was it straight forward installation? How tall is that bump stop?

How is the ride of LC shocks? I have 18.5 inch gap between top and bottom shock mounts on the truck and only LC 80 shocks match that space.

There are several shocks you can use depending on your collapsed and extended lengths. jross20 has a nice spreadsheet that you can view with collapsed/extended lengths of different shocks: Jross's Shock List

So I run this setup except I'm using the 95 bravada bumpstops with 95 swaybar endlinks. Still with center cones. I flexed the living **** out of my rear and they held in place. I'm pretty sure I was lifting a wheel as I could not drive forward anymore. The LC shocks don't even come close to compressing fully. I estimate another 2.5-3 inches but I doubt our trucks could make use of that, especially with the extended bumpstops. I am having an issue with the DS hitting the gas tank skid though but I don't have any panhard correction installed. However to answer your question my springs stay in place even while full flexing while on the move.

Pictures of full flex for me(at least with swaybars and bumpstops) below. I have 265/75s

If your looking for FULL flex with this setup check out running_with_rachel on insta. He runs toytec 3 inch springs with the FJ 5100s(same compressed/Extended) and he runs NO swaybars

BTW that is one CLEAN undercarriage!
