OME BP-51 Suspension System -- Anyone yet?

I'll report back with new settings this weekend. I will be adjusting the preload as well, should net about an inch more lift upfront.

Btw, I have compression set at 1, rebound at 6.

Loving that front bumper,,like to see some different angles,,sweet rig Giz!

Dang, looking pretty well level there The Giz! What's your preload at?

I agree it does look level there but will settled slightly. I'm at the factory set 20mm preload with 130lbs bumper and 70-80lbs winch.

I'm curious what you all have your compression and rebound at? I know the settings "could" change based on rear springs, load, front weight blah blah blah, but would still like to hear a few numbers from folks and your experiences off road at those settings.

For the Front, I'm at Rebound 6 and Compression 8 - Pre-load is also set to 12mm from the original 20mm
Rears with Light Coils: Rebound 4 Compression 7

Why? I don't know. I changed them up a bit when I was on Mojave Road last November messing around in the sand and haven't touched them since. I've since added a front bumper and ditched the Gobi rack. Need to pull them off and re-adjust the pre-load for the bumper and battery.

I am shocked that you're running such high numbers. I don't recall what mine came with, but they were less than that and felt pretty stiff to me.

I am now running 2/2 (comp/reb) up front and 3/2 (comp/reb) in the back. It's soft, for sure, but seems to handle really well on and off road. I love how smooth the ride is with the combination of the bypasses, softer settings, and KDSS.

I am at 9mm of preload (no bumpers, just aluminum skids and sliders) in the front, and running the Superflex HD coils in the back.

Preload is 20mm. I'll have to jump under and grab the reb/comp settings this weekend but I know the rear rebound is set high and comp low. Front both are relatively low. I'll post back

Good post, I was curious as well

Hey Sean, good to hear from you. Yes same ones you installed.

Saw your post about 20mm preload, so I guess the advisor may have forgotten to tell you that I was able to get the adjustment done and they are in fact at max preload.

Of course if anyone has any questions about the installation, let me know.

They neglected to mention that, said they weren't adjusted. This would explain the lack of rake.

Folks, Sean is the tech that did the installation, here to answer all your questions . ;)

Thanks for the numbers guys, I'll have to play around with the settings some more. Only reason compression was set high was for running high speed in the desert.

After several attempts to get the ride height level, I added a one inch Daystar spacer. I also backed off the pre-load from the maxed out position in an earlier attempt to level the vehicle. The end result is I now have it within 1/4 inch front to back height difference and it looks so much better and the ride and handling is what I would have expected from this expensive setup. When first installed the handling was OK, but didn't take high speed turns as well as it does now. The nose down made it feel like it was falling out of the turn and much harder to control. Now I can throw it into the turn and feels very solid and controllable. Adjusting the compression and rebound to this new setup made the ride incredibly smooth. I'll be honest, I was ready to pull it off and put my ICONs back on before adding the top spacer. For the 4th Gen V8 4Runner with ARB Bumper and winch it does not lift the front like it does on the 5th Gen setup. The spacer made the difference and as much as I am not a fan of spacer lifts, it got mine sitting where I wanted and improved the overall handling. I am sure there are plenty of people that would find fault with this, but for now all I can say is it works well for me. Next weekend I am taking it out to put it through some off-road testing before leaving next month on a cross country trip.

Got my BP-51 setup delivered. Noticed that the boxes actually say 4runner on it now. Everything said 4runner except front mount hardware kit.

Can't wait to get this done

out of curiousity, who not try heavier duty coils before adding a spacer?

The sway bar clearance issue exists for me. I have the 5th Gen BP51's. It seems my sway bar droops down more on the driver side, and its rubbing the radiator bracket where you add the radiator spacers. The passenger side of the sway bar has perfect clearance, its the driver side that has the issue. Going to call tomorrow to see what my options are. I also don't like the rear reservoir line being so close to the metal frame, ill take a pic of it tomorrow to show you what i am talking about.

I'm going from a 2016 TRD Pro Bilstein Shock with Toytec TRDPro 2" Spacer lift with rear Superflex Coils to the 5th Gen BP-51. The ride difference is night and day on the street and highway. No leaning, No nosediving, Stiffer, but not too stiff where its uncomfortable/jerky. Handles the weight much better. I'm happy, but need to get this sway bar issue resolved. Midnight Anvil any ideas?

Do you have any kind of a sway bar drop? When I did The Giz 's install we also did Total Chaos upper control arms but I can't remember if it was the OMEs or the UCAs that included the drop kit. Didn't seem to have any clearance issues.

I'm running Camburg UCA.
