OME Lift Installed

So after much thought, last week I pulled the trigger and ordered the lift kit :rockon:.
I ordered the heavy front and medium rears, and so far the ride is harder but not to bad.

The install itself wasn't bad, I did it on my own (with the occasional help from the wife), took my time and got it done in about 8hrs.

The alignment came out as expected with the caster out of spec. Now all I need in better tires to go along with the lift.

The measurements were
Pre lift:
DF: 34.5
PF: 34.5
DR:36.5
PR: 36.7
Post lift:
DF: 38.5
PF: 38.5
DR: 39.8
PR: 40.3

what are your CV angles now? 4" lift in front is quite a lot.

4 inches is huge, but it will settle by about 1-1 1/2", I had the same issue with my original OME setup and subsequent Radlo setup.

~4in was what I expected after reading all the install threads here and on the FJ forums, and based on Jono and what I've seen in others, they'll settle a bit, but real difference will be once I install the front bumper and winch.

I agree my fronts settled about 1.25" as well the rear stayed almost the same.

got it. my ICON XT coilovers also settled about 1.25" after a short while. and sit about 37.25" now (from ground, with 265/70-17 Duratracs). CV angles look a-ok.

didn't know that you were planning to install a bumper and winch too, so wasn't certain what to expect with the OME heavies up front. (if they'd sit too high without extra weight.)

I did add the 5mm spacer on the DF, and came out perfect (no KDSS). It'll probably take a few days/weeks for it to properly settle, I just installed it Saturday and I haven't measured it since.

Actually it's been tracking very well overall, the only "issue" is that it won't return to center as fast but I was expecting that.

That's good! Most want theirs close to 4.0. Mine is at 2.5 and fine though. You are the first I think to say theirs is fine at 0.

Just to add another data point to the discussion -

I have OME 884 coils installed on bilstein 5100 shocks. I have 285/70/17 duratrac tires. They have been on for a few months now.

I am at about 38-1/4" passenger front and 37-5/8" driver front.
I have a toytec 1/4" top mount spacer in my glovebox I need to get installed. That should put me at close to 38" left and right.

I have LR UCA and am very pleased with the ride overall.

Yeah, I think it's one of those completely subjective things..My wife hasn't driven it yet since I installed the lift, and she could probably hate it, or might not even notice the difference...


On a side note, does anyone know the allowable angle range for the CV's?
