To finsh getting the auto trans for my runner! Whohoo! Going down in my best friends 05 t4r with a trailer. Wish us luck. Iroke and I went down a couple months ago but had to leave it cuz we ran out of daylight.

All that is left theorectly is the flex plate bolts for the torque converter, but we shall see.... then I get to take mine out of my truck...fml

I wish it was a simple fix but when every gear including neutral goes in reverse I think its time.

All of the ones that were parked in the drive were back there....he has to hid em cuz the city wants em out. I was half tempted to pull the motor out and take the rear end/leafs also lol but we were good and didn't. We did roll the truck on its side though hehehe.... we had a fun productive day.

Side note these v6 auto trans are flippin heavy.....id guess 350-400lbs.

Just my 2 cents... Pull the torque converter off while you have it out and try to drain as much of the fluid as you can. Pay attention to what comes out as well. Smell it and look for metal shavings. Judging by the pictures it's hard tell if that transmission was any good when it was parked.

If your happy with what came out then fill it half way up with new fluid.

Will do. I'm planning on new fluid and a new trans filter, but didn't think to check the fluid in the converter. The guy I got it from said he drove it to where it was in the back woods of his property so I'm guessing it still works( not sure how long it was sitting for). The cluster and most the interior was gone so I have no clue how many miles is on the trans. Might ever replace the selonids too while its out. There was still a couple quarts in it when I drained it after pulling it today, it was burnt but still had the sweet smell of trans fluid and was somewhat red still. Hell the motor was full of water(upper plenium was off and hood was gone) but still turned freely and had good compression when turning it over by hand. So that might be a good sign.

First and last auto trans I ever wanna replace without getting paid to do it(beside the one in my truck)

Anything else I should check/replace while its out? Don't really wanna rebuild it clutch packs and what not( ill save that for my original once its out)
