One touch unlock feature

Quick question all:

I'm sick of having to press the keyless entry twice to open all doors. Is there a way to program it to open all doors with one push?

Thanks in advance.

just imagine with me... So youre gettin off work pretty late one evening and youre just takin a lil stroll to your car in the parking garage of your office and all you can think of is that nice warm bubble bath with all the arromatic candles and just chill-laxin in the tub for the next few hrs once you get home. maybe a lil moo shoo boom boom :girl: :whipping2: :monkey: with the wifey afterwards and all would be a good nite. As you near your car you start to take your keys out and press the unlock button on yuor truck. *BEEP*BEEP* all doors unlock and you open the drivers side door and have a seat.

JUST THENYOU HEAR YOUR PASSENGER DOOR OPEN AND IN HOPS BUBBA WITH A 9mm TO YOUR SIDE AND HE TELLS YOU TO DRIVE BEEOTCH! YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO DRIVE WHEREVER BUBBA SAYS. he tells you to pull into a secluded lot and give him all your money. to make matters worse, now he wants your clothes! WTF? good thing BUBBA aint askin for you to assume the position.

Just press the damn button another time. it might just save your life!

Honestly, if some fool comes up to your car before you have started it and points a gun at your face, even if all your windows are up and all your doors are unlocked, he's taking your car. Toyota glass isn't bulletproof and neither are the doors.

Maybe he will like my HK .45 in comparison with his glock.:50cal:

IN all honesty thanks for the3 concern. I would just like to know if there is an answer.

Assuming you carry with one already in the pipe with the safety off and you can draw and aim before he pulls the trigger on his Glock, then you're right he probably wouldn't like your HK very much :)

Excellent point. It really could be safer. But, what if you had a briefcase from work? You would have to hit it twice to put it in the backseat or the liftgate. There is a little twist to the story! :lmao:

GatorGreg, an HK P7 doesn't need or have a safety. With its squeeze cocker, it's the fastest pistol I know of to cock & fire from a safe condition. However, I think the P7's largest available caliber is .40.

With regards to reading the manual, I don't recall seeing instructions for this, and I read it cover to cover. (I'll admit, with some Zzzz's too.)

Anywho, is this something we can do ourselves? I've already taken the steps to program how the doors lock and unlock (lock with speed, unlock going into park.)

Yep, since he said it was a 45 I figured he's talking about a USP. HK did make a few prototype P7s in 45, but apparently never offered them for sale: P7M7

To further hijack (carjack :p ) Mpower's thread, I remember seeing some "safety expert" type show once where the guy recommended NEVER giving in to someone with a gun who wanted to take you for a ride (the show was geared more towards women I think).

His theory was you're more likely to wind up dead then if you give it your all to try to get away, since the perp oftentimes is just planning to take the victim to a secluded place to rape/rob and then kill them. If you try to get away, then there's a chance he might not even try to shoot you in the open, and even if he does shoot he might miss, and even if he doesn't miss he might not mortally wound you.

Normally I would bite my tongue, but I have to ask, is it that difficult to press the button twice to open all the doors? Seriously, have we gotten that lazy that now people want change something from a simple two press to a one press?

But don't you hate it when passengers can't wait for the doors to unlock. And when you do get all doors unlocked the passenger that tried is still locked (always makes a funny sound). Somehow I feel that one day, the mechanism is gonna break.

I know what you mean. It got to the point where my father was hitting the door with his shoulder, and I yelled at him about that, and he yelled at me for yelling at him. You know what, he did not pay for it, so I have every reason to be upset.
But to prevent that in the future, I looked up in the manual if you can set the automatic unlock feature that kicks in when you put the car in "Park" can be changed to open all doors. It can, and now that problem is solved.

I hope you guys don't think I'm lazy.

I'm just trying to save some life on my lights and keyless battery. Most of the time I am going to the passenger door first to put my breifcae and gym bag in first. Just more of a personla preference/annoying thing for me to not have to press it twice.;):

Yup, it's there. Amazing what you can learn if you actually read that book.
