One year anniversery and still loving it for the most part

Yesterday was the beasts 1 year anniversary since the time we made it a part of our belongings. Still loving the T4R - the only concern at this point is the drop in mpgs that I have noticed recently. Not cool! I am realizing that the beast needs to be driven in a very specific way for the mpgs to be around 19-19.5. Too much time in low gears and the mpgs drop by at least 1-2!

I only have about 1500 miles on mine, but I have averaged 19.3mpg hand calculated. I drive 1/3 city, 2/3 highway. I drive 75-85 on the highways.

I am pretty happy with that mileage for full-time 4wd. I was only averaging 20.8mpg with my '04 SR5 2wd.

about 8000 mi into mine and i am very happy with the truck. my mpg's went from 20-22 in the summer to about 17-18 now in the cold weather. hopefully they will go back up when it gets warmer. Only complaint I have about it so far is the annoying "window ticking/creaking" sound that others are complaining about. seems to get worse in the cold weather. Also find it strange that 8k mi and about 8 months, and have not had the oil changed yet. This 10k mi oil change as recommended is going to take some getting used to.

Ant-NY- Due to the recommendation of others on here who are more knowledgeable than me on theses issues, I decided to pay out of pocket to get the oil change done every 5000 miles instead of the recommended 10,000. True that there are some extra costs to this, but if it is going to help with the longevity of the T4R, I am OK with that is how I see it.

ChetJ: yeah, thinking about doing that as well. I only average about 12k miles per year, so 2 changes a year will not break the bank.
