Operation: 6' sleep space

I'm 6' (shhhhhh!!! really 5'11 and 5/8th's inch!) but the Army allows me to be 6'...which is good.

If you measure from closed hatch to folded rear seats it's 5'8". That's a few inches shorter than me. It was like this in the 4G T4R and it's like it in the new one. I don't like laying at an angle (call me weird).

So until my sleep platform is designed and built (I have wonderful ideas) I decided to commence operation 6' sleep space. Basically it involved a wrench and about 5 seconds of time (free mod! yippee!, lol just kidding)

Going out to the boonies to drink massive amounts of beer around a bonfire.

Enjoy your weekend / summer fellas! :)

So what did you do with the wrench? Move the front seat forward or...use it to break all the bones in your feet so they'll "crunch up" when you close the back hatch? :)

but the Army allows me to be 6'...which is good.

Are you in the Old Guard? Just curious.

Wait until you hit 40...then 45 (ugh). There will be no modding needed: I was 6'2" when I was 19, but at 45 I'm like 6' and one half inch. In 10 years, I'll be stretched out, full-length, across the back seat of a Prius without touching either frickin' side...

Here's a thought on a platform (I was planning on one, too, until you mentioned the space problem): how about a 5'8" (or whatever will fit) platform that's static, but with a portion that's hinged on the end and 'flips' over to extend it another 6" or so. And all you need to do to make space for the extra section is to move the front seat all the way forward and fold it towards the dash (without removal)?

I'm 37 next week. My back is already jacked.

I've got ideas on the platform and will probably build 5 of them at a time to see what interest is like...we'll see. I like my ideas.

I am 6'1 and slept just fine in mine last weekend. I did have the hatch open just a hair though.

This is my sole reason for ordering the RTT. I slept in the back of mine for a week and it was great however being 6"4 it had its moments. I ended up wrapping my feet around the hatch which with my knees bent gave me just enough room to sleep.
