Original U-joint Question

Hey Guys, I am on the verge of doing my U joints on my 2001 2WD Limited. Do the original U joints have clips to keep them in place or are they the kind that are held in with plastic? Need to know if I have a need to pick up a propane torch to melt plastic.

Ive never seen a u-joint held in place with anything plastic, its usually a half or full circle metal snap ring.

They are metal snap rings and require a good deal of clamping to get out/in.

A good set of snap ring pliers are good to have.
