Here is my take........terrorism is a growing profitable business that has an ever increasing influence on the policy and legislative branches of the US government (and the rest of the world). We only focus on who is to blame (especially in a partisan manner) and totally ignore who is actually making a killing financially on this or who stands to make a killing by having continued strife. When stuff makes little sense to me....I try to view the money angle.

Any industry has to be funded.....the money angle. In order to fight or combat terrorism you need to spend money........that money goes to specific companies,people, areas. etc.

Yes we do. BTW you just committed a bannable offense by calling people names. Should you be banned for that? Of course not but according to the rules you should.
If you don't come into the OT section much I could see how you can be confused. I watch closely to make sure things don't get out of hand. Actually we have some pretty good, spirited debates over here. So stick around and read a bit, or leave. Just because your specific belief or political bent is being questioned is no reason to get upset. If it gets out of hand I will shut it down. I have many times before.

It's obviously not as simple as just bombing more, sending in more troops, banning muslim immigrants, etc. In fact, we have a lot of history showing us that making the wrong moves can actually make things worse and grow ISIS support.

Nope, not saying that money is the cause of this or even responsible for it but now the "industry" will ultimately grow resulting in funds being allocated to it and then the lobbying will follow and the industry will keep growing(this of course is already happening).
And yes, I am referring to who is funding ISIS and where are they getting the expertise and infrastructure to mass market this deadly ideology on youth, really. My comment was more about blaming a specify political party for this stuff as it seems to me that's the real red herring.......and it offers no solution but "pat yourself on the back" rhetoric because you just scape goated someone. If things were that simple........
I am saying terrorism has now become a "business" as tons of resources are allocated to it, ergo, there are many forces at play and there are also competing interests at play. I doubt that this genie can be put back into the bottle.

From what I've read and seen documentary of, ISIS actually recruit "young" individuals who have no sense of direction and quite frankly, no future. When you live in a country where you have almost no education and no job, you do what you have to do to survive.
In the war torn Middle East, some places have no electricity for weeks or longer. And food/water is scarce too. If your family is starving and scared and someone comes up to you and said "we'll take care of your entire family if you fight for us", what would you do?
This is what I gathered and is the bases for my opinion. They make money on pillaging oil fields and anything else of value. Such as museum artifacts. And sell them in the black market (yes someone out there buys them). Part of that money goes to new recruits I would think.

The topic of the thread and first post was light on a terrorist attack.
The following posts were nothing but bantering of political parties and pushing their own agenda. "Trump 2016" being in the following post there after.
'Obama is a pansy' there after. Granted I'm loosely quoting but holy sh*t, that has no coronations with what was being discussed!
Sorry if I intruded into a public discussion which later took a u-turn on the MAIN topic of the story.

it's ok. it'll be worse in canada soon.
eventually, enough people here will be killed by terrorists and the powers that be will finally decide they can't ignore it. but i'd guess we need a few thousand more u.s. citizens to die in terrorist attacks before that happens.
it is unfortunate for a lot of potential peaceful immigrants. the terrorists will shut down all u.s. borders, no aliens to enter legally. the war is coming, if it isn't here already.
