Joneseyyy, 4shorerunner, and LimaMike, we will work out the meeting place details in Walsenberg pretty soon. I can't remember exactly but there is a big gas station (Acorn Travel Plaza) at the NWC of Business 25 and highway 69 just north of Walsenburg. This will probably be a perfect stop so we can load up on any last minute items top off the gas tanks and head over the pass.

Just a heads-up for those going to Ouray...
If you haven't been to this area before, it is almost high desert and temps can range from low 90s in the daytime to 50s at night so pack for summer but bring a light jacket.
Normally humidity is very low, add to this the altitude and you flat landers may encounter mild altitude sickness in the form of headaches. To stay ahead of the game, drink plenty of fluids, more than you think you need, more than your thirst tells you to drink.
I wish I could go with you!

OK guys,
Here is the tentative plan. If we could all meet up at the Cracker Barrel for breakfast around 730AM on Monday July 16th. the address is below:
2323 East Interstate 40, Amarillo, TX.
From there we will leave about 830 and head north. Please let me know if the timing is off for any of you and we can talk about an adjustment. I was thinking it would be best to leave early in case of any issues and also to arrive at camp during the daylight for set-up etc.
I think you all have my cell, if not let me know via PM and I will get it to you.

Hey guys, unfortunately work has kept me away from lots of this stuff. I've just learned I can't make it, and I have therefore just cancelled my res at Spangler House. I imagine someone could call right away and get the spot. Just thought I'd let you all know in case you know someone that needs a room. Maybe next year.

Check your email for an update on the trip and meeting times and locations. Also, Okki posted that 550 will be closed on the 17th from 8PM to 6AM, so Tuesday morning we need to remain ever mindful of our time. If we leave the dunes by 10AM we should be there by 3-330PM.
As long as we make it in time. I would like to get there and try to make a quick trail or two if possible. Wednesday, if anyone is up for it I am planning to meet some guys at the Hot Springs to take the Mineral Creek Trail.
