Overland Expo EAST 2015

Hey fellow 5th gen'ers, since there doesn't seem to be a thread for the 2015 East Expo here in the 5th gen section figured I would start one to see who else might be going. Yep that's right I'm road tripping out from Colorado, I grew up in Asheville and my folks live just a few miles from Taylor Ranch so I'll hang out for a bit after to do some mtn biking with a friend. I usually go out for a week each fall anyway so I figured I'd drive and tack this on!

I'm sure I've left off folks that went last year, I just grabbed some names from the old thread for last year so hopefully they see this.

I'm in. Registration is now open. I had a great time last year, and expect more of the same this year!!
 
I haven't registered yet, but will soon. I have full intent to do the overland experience with my girlfriend. I didn't realize registration was open already. I've been checking the main page and it still says Mid-2015. I figured it would say registration now open (I didn't notice the register now link was up finally).

Anybody do the overland experience before? Is it worth it? I figure we have a lot to learn, and it would be nice to soak as much knowledge as possible in that weekend.
 
I registered for the overland experience as you can't do most of the classes with some of the others I think. Plus I was going to camp there Friday and sat night.
 
I hope you guys have more fun that we did in Flagstaff.

There were TONS of 5th Gens there though. Seems like a lot of former 70/80 and FJ guys now have T4Rs

I did it last year, had a great time, and learned some new stuff. The overland experience allows you to take some classes that aren't open to the day pass people.

I actually had the most fun after the classes were over in the evenings when you have time to meet different people and hear their experiences/stories.
 
If it were in the back half of November when I plan to already be in NC then I would go. We are already missing the sister-in-law's wedding in early October because we will have just had a baby.
 
I may be in for this. Maybe see if we can get a few of us Atlanta 4runner guys to come up. Gotta look up the Appalachian Toyota Round up to make sure the two don't interfere.
 
Won't be this year [MENTION=91899]Jhalko[/MENTION]....going to be doing the Mid Alantic Overland Festival in August, and Vermont Overland Rally in October....thanks for thinking of me though.

I do want to get down there for sure though...my daughter is stationed in Valdosta, Ga...so driving through there would be on the way.

Funny, I walk in the house tonight from some yard work and the wife says "There's a Vermont Overland Rally in October... it's really nice in Vermont in October". Not knowing exactly what she was getting at I just replied "Asheville is great in October as well, and the baby sitter lives down the street from Taylor Ranch".
 
I'll be attending this year for the overland experience and I am extremely excited about it. I have not been to one of these events, but do all of the T4R.ORG guys try to get together???

I'm quite stoked as well, it'll be a pretty good trip out so I don't know my timing yet. As we get closer maybe we can all figure out more logistics. I'd think you'd rather hang with a 4runner crowd over a bunch of Jeeps? :thumb:
