Overland Expo East - Oct 2-4
If you haven't been you need to put this on the calendar. Even if you aren't sitting in on the classes you need to go for the expo. Some really nice gear on display that you just don't get to see in person anywhere else.
Overland Expo has been a west coast event for years and finally came to the East coast a few years ago. Located just outside of Asheville on a beautiful farm. You can camp with other like minded outdoors folks on site, or just make a day trip of it. Good times.
