So you guys who have put the one from JA in, Where did you end up putting the switch?
I'm looking at the left hand trim column. Are there any better places?

On a more serious note ....... If the functionality of this gizmo is useful to you, it seems like a very good mod., and at a very reasonable price. (Just don't rear end someone while playing with your Nav system!)

Is this a sign that I am getting old? I used to love sitting down at my electronics bench and building modules like this. Now, I think I might just trade cash for the finished product, and not even bother heating up my soldering iron.

Here's what I did with mine...mounted Switch to Module, then stuck it in GloveBox.

If this is to use the Entune while the car is moving, please post info on what the module is, where do you buy it, and how you install it.
Thanks.

It's the "Nav Override" so you can use the touch screen for phone or program the Nav System while you're moving. It works well for your passenger to be able to punch in destinations while you are on the go. The module simulates a signal telling the nav system you are only going 4 mph, so your exact location on the map is a little skewed until you turn the switch off, then the GPS signal catches up to you.

Sweet! I just searched and found it. Great mod! If I can get over the Entune issues I'm having (i.e: if Toyota fixes it), I'm getting one of thse for my wife to use while I'm driving.

My nav freezes up once in a while, and I get the random reboot. It's a pain in the neck. If Toyota does not fix it, I will swap it out for an aftermarket HU. I have a kenwood dnx 6140 sitting in my basement which will work nicely in the T4R.

would love to see a pic of the button placement

I'm on holiday and will get a pic out when I get back. I placed it right above the auxiliary jack near the 12 volt outlet.

The person making these is a member here. My Radio Shacks don't carry several of the parts, so it was easier to order.
My woman gets to use it while we drive, I have no intention to fool with it while I drive, I live in California, the land of the hands free drivers.

I've decided this is going to be my next mod (all fired up after a successful rear camera switch install). In another thread someone complained about their Entune freezing up after using the Prestigious kit for 300 miles. Can anyone else weigh in with their experience after using the J.A. kit? Please share how long you've been using it as well. Thx!
