I don't use that one but I have the weathertech one. Works awesome.

Not kidding when I tell this story. In 2008 I decided to park my 2004 Saab 9-3 Aero and buy a used Volvo to commute as I was putting too many miles on the Saab and did not want to destroy it for works sake. It was a hot summer. If I remember correctly we had 20+ days of well over 100 (105/107) here in Alabama. I had no protection on the Saab so it sat in the driveway the entire summer while I was out working like crazy and traveling in the Volvo.
When I got back the Saab was pretty much destroyed. The rubber around the back window had cracked everywhere and was lifting up. Same for the side windows. Inside the car all the LCD's were pretty much dead and leaking from the instrument panel, the info panel and the A/C panel. As much as I love/loved Saabs I'm guessing that the Nordic cars don't like 100+ temps.
I no longer let vehicles bake without protection if I can avoid it.

I got the heat shield too. But I just folded mine like an accordion. It works really well that. And I would agree with others. It's really expensive, but well made and tailored fit. Still hot inside, but it protects the dash.

So living in TX, obviously, I use all the help I can get when it comes to heat relief and my car. I’ve used a (front window) heat shield for as long as I can remember driving. I’ve owned plenty of them, but admittedly, most have been whatever I ordered off of Amazon or bought at Auto Zone (for price savings). I like the idea of the model specific, tailored-fit ones, but at the end of the day, they get folded up and thrown in the backseat (and stepped on by kids, etc.). And I could be mistaken, but if memory serves me correct, I actually did pony up and get a nice one once for one of my cars... And it didn’t really work any better than the $14 one from Auto Zone. Having said that, I can attest that it all depends on your car or truck (for obvious reasons). Since the generic brand ones are mass-produced sizing, some fit certain cars/trucks really well, while in others, they are laughable.
My current one is from Auto Zone. And in all honesty, it fits the 5th Gen 4Runner windsheild really well. Unfortunately, there are no tags on it at all (I just looked). But I think it was on sale a few summers ago for $13 or so. It’s the shiny foil accordion style, with “grey” sort-of cloth looking finish on the last 5-7 inches. Again, it almost fits our 5th gens good enough to be considered a custom-made fit. Works great for our TX summers.
