P metric 285's

Stopped by my local big o tires today to try and get a quote for some P285/70/17 cooper at3's. They said they are unable to get them and are discontinued, is this true? For those that are running P metric 285's what tire are you running?

Running Cooper Discoverer AT3 285/70/17 in P metric. FWIW none of the tire shops near me could get these in P metric and only a couple could bring in LT versions. I bought my set through TreadDepot.com and had my local shop install and balance them.

I have looked into both. Don't really want the nittos cause I hear they aren't that great. And the toyos are just a bit too pricey.

Cooper is still making the tires. A friend of mine who owns over 20 tire retailers said that Cooper does not have the manufacturing capacity for a popular tire like the AT3. He has had them on back order at several stores and routinely moves them from store to store to meet demand.

Thanks for checking up on what big o tires told me. I was kinda skeptical about buying discontinued tires but turns up it was false information. Think I will buy from treaddepot.com anyone have any other recommendations to get them cheaper?
