So I have been supercharged for the last 45,xxxish miles. I run the stock 2.34? pulley, no fuel mods, 2 step colder NGK IK22 plugs, 2500ft elevation and always run 91 or higher octane gas.
I have never had a problem until this last week. I was on a road trip and pulling over some large hills and the check engine light came on. I thought nothing of it as I was having some issues with my maf for a few weeks and figured that was it. I finished the road trip (another 500ish miles) and when I got back, I scanned the code and saw p0325 (Knock sensor)
I cleared the code and all was fine for a few days so I figured I had caused it by trying to pull so hard over the hill and it was just a fluke.
Then on the freeway after work a few days later, it came on again. Again, I scanned and cleared it and it started coming on fairly regularly on the freeway.
Last night, it started coming on any time I was cruising above 25 and just barely put my foot on the gas.
It seems like it is the high gear low RPM lean out that is fairly common with the supercharger but if it is, Im curious why I have never had any issue before or if more than likely it is the harness (read they become brittle and break) or possibly a bad sensor that is triggering to early.
Is there any way to test without pulling the supercharger/lower plenum off. I cannot hear any knock/pinging at any rpm in or out of the truck and the truck feels and sound like it always has until the light kicks on and pulls timing.
Also, I changed my plugs after I got back from the trip as they were put in when I put the supercharger on 45,000 miles ago and while they were getting pretty worn out, there was no sign of running lean at all. In fact there was a little indication I am running slightly rich (Black residue around the base).
