P285s w/ 17x7'' on SR5 dont rub at all!

Gentleman,

I would like to clarify that every tire is different in dimension so this is just an example of my set up.

Car: 2011 SRA Premium
Wheel: Stock SR5 wheel 17x7''
Tire: P285/70r17 Falken AT3/W
Suspension: Stock SR5
PSI: 31 Front, 32 Rear.

I had the same tires in my last 2007 FJ, 285/70r17 AT3/W, with stock FJ wheels 17x7.5 (Important point here) and they rub in the BM and UCA. Now, same tire with different wheel (Stock SR5 17x7'') and didn't rub at all with the stock suspension. I did full slow and high speed turns right and left didn't rub, I did reverse same direction didn't rub either.

A couple off things to consider:
- The tires are P not LT, P285s. The depth is a little less (14/32 vs LT-16/32)
- Wheel are 17x7, compare to popular 17x7.5 or 17x8
- I run 31ps front 32psi rear, did the chalk test and this is what I need.

Front wheel at full lock right and left no run at all, even when driving. I had 1.5" front rear wheel space and 1" up front space at full turn. Again, this is with my set up.

Looks good, but I think it will rub when compressed off road, or over a curb etc.
I'm debating on 265 ko2's or a lighter p285 for my TE.

My SR5 came with k02 LT265/70r17, 53lbs each (24Kg).
Then I bought a set of Falken A/T3W P285s, 50lbs each (22.6kg)

As you can see my 33'' tire wight less and I get better ground clearance and better gas millage.

Congratulations but don't get too excited. Remember that another guy with an identical 4Runner might mount those exact same tires and rub like crazy. Caster settings and stack up tolerances are key. You got lucky like several others here. For every one of you there is a guy with the same setup that has to mod to get rid of the rub.

So good for you but this is not a definitive fit.

The reason I say this is people might read your post and think they can do the same with no issues. This is not correct as every 4runner is slightly different. Looks good.

Those would be E rated bfg's at that weight. Same size in a c load are only 45 lbs

What are you doing for a lift? I'm leaning towards Bilsteins set at 1.75" as my trail edition has 3"+ of factory rake and I despise it every time I look at it!

I just went with the 5100's on my TEP, 1.75" front and 1" cornfed spacers in rear. leveled off nicely. Looking a wheels and tires now.

I'll decide this Monday/Tuesday, im between OME coils fron and rear with Bilstein 5100s and SPC uca or ToyTec coils with bilstein and SPC.
