PAC TATO Question

If I am understanding what I have read that by using the TATO, I will not need a separate wiring harness to connect the stero harness to the vehicle harness. I had thought that I would need a harness to connect the stereo wiring to the vehicle and that the TATO was only for the speakers and the JBL sub. I called PAC and the guy said that the TATO would do it all.

Can anyone confirm this?

Now a new question, where did my sound go? I hooked up my AVIC to the TATO and had good sound after hooking it up. I followed the turn up the volume, center the balance and fader, etc. After I started the 4 runner to move it out of the garage, I had no sound at all. I called PAC and they said that the stereo may not have 4v constant and suggested I cut the RCA ends off the PAC harness and wire in the stereo speaker outs.

I am personally thrilled about doing this, but the guy from PAC said that it was the only way. Has anyone else had this problem? I saw another post about it cutting out, and they removed the two rear connections.
