The painted caliper thing looks good on the S2000 because its done with some class AND its on fairly open wheels w/ low profile tires. The painted caliper on the 4x4 wheel just looks, well, bad.

. I must admit that I have received a BUNCH of compliments of many individuals who have asked me "how do I do that". Obviously, people have different opinions (like yourself). But, on my black 4runner, my red calipers really set it off and give it some added depth. It takes boring calipers that are not visible and makes them stand out. I feel EXTREMELY confident that if you really considered doing this, you would be very pleased. It gives the 4runner a sportier look and makes the brakes look very expensive and detailed. But, I have the sport edition (which has skinnier wheel stems than the limited wheels). So, the calipers are easier to see. Anyway, I am sorry to hear that you feel this is "retarded"! But, maybe some things that you may do to your 4runner is "retarded" to some other individuals. Thats the great thing about being different than most....changing things up to make our 4Runners unique. I LOVE my red calipers.
Exactly! And, I understand that everyone has different opinions about certain mods and I certainly respect that. Painting calipers isnt for everyone obviously. But, personally I felt that it would make my 4Runner stand out and be unique. And, IMHO I succeeded. MANY people have given me compliments at gas stations, Wal-marts, and numerous other places. They ask me if the brakes are "factory" or high dollar additions. I tell them they are Brembo brakesKoz said:
