painting emblems while still on 15' 4runner

So I tried Plastidip and it was alright but the durability isn't as great as I had hoped. I already have several nicks.

Has anyone tried actually painting the emblems while still on the truck with krylon?

My initial thought was to tape everything off and prep as usual and then apply plastidip. Then, instead of removing the areas between the letters, removing the plastidip on the letters, essentially using the plastidip between and around the letters as masking.


Thoughts? Concerns?

Go on eBay and buy the black out kit, super easy and looks great. It's like 79.00 but it is perfect and your done in 5 minutes, exact same thing Toyota uses on their XP package

It's hard to pay that much when I think how good a weekend project it could be. Haha

Actually I looked on eBay and can't find any!

If you want a weekend project then do it right and take the letters off and sand and paint.
