Not sure, I might opt for an applicator other than the foam brush they give you. Maybe a regular bristle brush, or some type of rag? It lays down very flat and does not streak, so I think it's a pretty forgiving product.

I don't like painted plastics.
I used Kiwi shoe dye with the foam applicator tip on my old VW flares, bumpers, and side skirts, and they held up great. Looked new.
I now use aerosol Stoner Trim Shine for plastics, and it works well. That does take maintenance, but it lasts well for a dressing.
I LOVE SEM Trim Paint! It's awesome stuff. That said, I wouldn't use that in this application.
I definitely agree dye is the best way to go on this piece.

I used Forever Black on the cowl. It was a lot more work than the rear bumper cover, and I think it came out OK, but not awesome. I ended up using the foam brush, as the bristle brush gave a finish that was not smooth at all. It still came out somewhat streaky from all the brushing.
If I did it again, and if I really cared about how it looked, I'd probably spray it with Trim Black.
