I've used wheel cleaner formulated for chrome wheels, it's usually stronger than the other formulations. Don't use them on uncoated aluminum wheels though, the acids will stain the surface.

Should never let your wheels get to the point that they have " brown baked on crud" on them. All you have to do is wash them off once in awhile with car wash soap. It amazes me to see vehicles driving around with brown front wheels and silver rear wheels.

What’s the best way to get the brown, baked on crud on the front wheels. I’m assuming that it’s brake dust.

I just painted my wheels yesterday, it’s definitely a process but worth it.
I would get a brush attachment for drill, it makes it a lot easier

Forgot to mention these are not painted, they were powder coated by a specialty wheel shop in Santa Clara, CA.

While a little time consuming, this whole process is worth it and cheap to boot!

Since these have been sprayed, I’m assuming the paint will be somewhat easy to chip?
