Panel kit for aftermarket radio not perfect fit

This is probably a stupid question but have to ask. I went through the archives but could not see for sure any pics that fit perfectly when installing a DDIN aftermarket radio. I guess the slant of my 2003 SR5 Sport dash does not give me the same reveal on both top and bottom of the face plate. The top sticks out about the same amount that the bottom is buried below the surface . I'm pretty sure Crutchfied gave me the right kit but they deal with a lot of vehicles. Thought I'd ask the numerous experts who have installed one. I have a Kenwood 6960. Is there a different kit that does allow the radio to mount at an angle so the reveal is the same. I can live with it but seems to me angling it would allow a better view as well.
Am I too picky?

Got a pic of the old original radio? If its the base non jbl u might be able to purchase the urban runner trim ring at around 80-100 dollars, otherwise use the metra kit that covers the left and right side of the unit. Now if u got the jbl system, u got some choices like metra, scoshe, best kits. Some will look better than the other.

I have the Metra and looks great on the sides but it's the top and bottom that bother me. I tried to post a pic but I'm not sure how to. I guess I can't just download it from my pics. Mine has the JBL radio.

How about the side brackets that come with the kit? Once the whole thing is put on, do it still stick out, u might want to try scoshe or best kit.

The brackets you speak of just hold it in place so they don't change anything. I sent a note to Scoshe and asked as well as sent them this pic. Bestkits have one that have a groove on each side where the radio fits in. Hard to say what that looks like unless I had a installed pic. I wonder if I'm just too fussy as I have not heard from other members and they just are happy with it. Thanks for your advice and we'll see what Scoshe says.
