Panhard bar question

That final draft fit is incredible!
I hope your manufacturer is as precise as you are.
Can't wait till I can order the other half of your bracket kit [emoji1374]

Thanks! Me too!

I've gotten word that we are a go for the bracket as-is: .120" wall and flanges turned inward like the factory crossmember mount. Very pleased!

I need to source 3mm thick M12 washers and do a final revision on the model and we'll be ready to run on this with final costing numbers!

Think you can have a run made in time for Christmas? The old girl would really appreciate a gift like this. Lol

That's what I'm shooting for; I need these for my truck also (and Christmas break is my most opportune work time for the 4runner) :)

I'm hoping to install it over break too.
This is going to be welded on as well, correct?

Question for folks who have ordered:

Is there anyone who has ordered the lift bracket who DOES NOT want a drop bracket as well?

Trying to get a sense of the run quantity so I can cost it out (I believe it I can keep the additional price for the drop bracket in line with that of the lift bracket.)

Obviously there is no additional shipping if you add the drop bracket, so let me know.

I'm in for the drop. With a little over 3" lift this will be sweet. And Ive got an adjustable panhard so should be able to dial in absolute perfection which is what my goal is!
Thanks again for all the effort put into these designs, which are the best I've ever seen.

Well I was thinking about building my own out of plate and lower it but wasn't sure how much to lower it. I figured 3 inch lift I'd drop it 3 inches but not really for sure about it all. This is my first time messing with lifts that have panhard bars

How advantageous? I'd need to do cad on that to determine how far to the right the axle is positioned at a 1/2" lift; but that would be the most the axle centering would be impacted with this setup.
(I personally wouldn't invest in an adjustable bar if I were only lifting my truck 1/2 inch, fwiw)

OK, here's some data relating to the quoted post above:

Took a few minutes to draw the stock panhard arc.

So, ASSUMING that my 904mm measurement of factory panhard bar length (center to center) is correct, and ASSUMING that a non-lifted 4Runner has its panhard at true horizontal, then:

- at 1/2" lift (or directly between the whole inch settings on our kit in question) the axle shifts 0.089mm to the passenger side. (Negligible considering rubber bushings, tire sidewalk flex, etc.)

Also of interest:

With out panhard mount alterations:

2.5" lift moves the axle 2.233mm. Panhard bar at 4.03 degrees from horizontal - an adjustable bar would need to be 2.227mm longer to correct.

3" lift shifts 3.217mm; bar is 4.84 degrees from horizontal - adjustable bar would need to be 3.206mm longer to correct.

4" lift shifts 5.728mm; bar is 6.45 degrees from horizontal - adjustable bar would need to be 5.691mm longer to correct.

(Does anyone mind double checking the work above and my assumptions, for sake of forum data accuracy?)

I've only messed with one particular aftermarket adjustable panhard bar but it was constructed without a left-hand thread at one end, so fine adjustment is improbable. (and one end is therefore largely irrelevant as well, I suppose?)

On a side note, are we certain that Toyota centered the axle on the 4Runner in the first place?

This will be the second time I benefit from eimkeith and his fabrication skills. Perhaps he will share a link to some of his other automotive creations?
