Parking Brake Cable Bracket Question

I installed Sonoran Steel HD rear lower links a few months back. The bracket on them for the parking brake cable is angled up to protect them better off road.
I found this meant the stock hanger that bolts to the link doesn't line up anymore as it was made for the stock arm, which has the bracket on the side. I’ve tried forcing it to line up and zip tying the stock hanger to the bracket but this put a lot of tension on the cable.
I’m thinking of cutting off the stock hanger. The brake cable is pretty stout and I don't see why it needs the hanger; anybody see any problems with this solution or have any other ideas?

I had a similar issue with my MT link on the passenger side. I cut it off and have let it hang without issues wheeling it in Moab, CO and Tahoe. No problems so far and over 15k miles later. You'll be fine.
