Low to mid 15s in the 1/4 is pretty quick for a truck. The 3.5 Rav is one of the quickest NA SUVs on the road. That little sucker's got some balls!

Yes,quick for a truck but it's nothing that's scary. The Dodge Ram SRT10 is a scary ride.

The new Tundra also is capable of solid high 14s too.

Scary is 90mph out of 1st gear, 120 out of 2nd and at 130 the front wheel touches down on the ground! (A motorcycle of course).

Yes,the one I actually got to launch hard still was running and ran high 13s up here at 5800ft which is quicker than the last gen Z06s ran here.

You could turn the tires into fine black powder with ease. Too bad the only thing it can haul is ass. Pretty much useless otherwise except to intimidate Ford Lightning owners. :bigok:

I always shift to 4 when I am merging or pass somebody. It has some serious power. This is one fast truck!

That slight delay always bothers me, so I always shift to 4th before I pass on a two lane road and it seems to respond a little better when you punch it

I also pretty much always downshift myself when passing on two lane highways for the same reason. Watch those RPM's though! I've accidentally bumped the limiter in 2nd gear. :bash: These engines don't rev out like a VTEC Honda

I'm sorry but the 4Runner isn't really quick considering it's mid 15 second 1/4 mile time. The Rav4 runs high 14s and I still didn't think it was that quick but I also have driven sub 12 second street cars.

They gave me a rav 4 limited for a loaner once...damn near the slowest car ive ever driven lol

I really hate the delay. My daily commute is a bunch of 4 lane roads. On any given day, one lane will be backed up & the other one will be flying. When I try to pass people on that 4 lane road, I have to time it just right that I jump lanes as I mash the accelerator & not get hit in that delay before the power kicks in. That is from a dead stop, but the same thing applies when I am already rolling along at 40, 50, 60 MPH.

I will have to try the 3rd & 4th gear trick to minimize the delay.
