Patio's 2000 4Runner Buildup

Greetings all, I decided to finally do a build thread on the Runner. This forum has been very inspirational and is chock full of great and innovative ideas.

Purchased in late 2010 with around 150K on the odometer in San Diego from a family who had their third child on the way and needed more room. Completely bone stock except for an aftermarket stereo because the stock one crapped out. That would not last long!

You can kind of see it in this pic, they really helped out when I am loaded down, plus having the Compression Adjuster on the Kings lets me compensate for additional load.

Not sure how much wheeling & flexing you do but I've read of some who are lifted having issues with the rear sway bar contacting the elocker during flex even with the front end links installed. See any evidence pointing either way with your setup?

I don't think I've ever seen someone run bypasses with mid travel. That thing is set up nicely. I'd also like to know more about the mini bumper and see some more pics of it along with mounting points. I take it that the skid plate is tied into the front crossmember? What are your travel numbers front & back? Do you run limit straps?

Here are some close up pics of the rear Kings, they will soon have a part# and be available from King. Talk to Brian Groves there, super knowledgeable and easy to deal with plus they are willing to do custom stuff that most other shock companies don't want to deal with. One of the (many) cool things about them was the attention to detail that went into the upper mounting. Most companies just have a stud with a couple of bushings, a washer, and a nut. These have all of that, plus a plastic coated innersleeve that fits nicely into the mounting hole on the chassis and a machined billet aluminum dished-plate that goes between the washer and the bushing.

Ran Gold Mtn Trail up in Big Bear this weekend and kept an eye out for that issue. It never even came close (swaybar to E-locker servo) even when flexed out.
Had to go early on Sunday AM, every other time there were 30+ Jeeps tamponing the trails.

Front bumperette/skidplate is mostly 1.75" 4130 and has saved my bacon during an unfriendly encounter with a big Yucca Tree. It has a 3/16" AL skid that goes all the way to the back of the lower arm mount. Mounted to the bar are two Baja Designs Squadrons with amber lenses for cutting through the dust and a Baja Designs Onyx 20" LED bar. I will never drive faster than these things can throw light!
