I see it on there site for 1,995 for the aluminum, but how much for the steel? HOW MUCH!?!?!?!

Yes, we will be offering the bumper in steel-just haven't released it yet.

It won't be very much longer until we release the steel version; our engineer is finalizing the drawings & then we have to build one.
Steel is definitely the way to go if you're going to be doing any rock crawling or hardcore off-roading! Once the final bumper is installed on my rig (it's at powder coating) we will do an official winch test. However, this isn't our first rodeo-we build an aluminum bumper for the Tacoma & tested it & have sold the heck out of them without issue.
As for the winch-you can run any of the winches we sell on our website. If there's one you're wanting that's not listed-just PM me the info & I'll let you know if it'll work

Has anyone on the forum actually purchased and installed pelfreybilt aluminum bumper? If you did purchase one how long did it take from the time you ordered it to the time you received it? Also, if you did install it, how did the installation go and was it a good fit?

Can't comment yet on the 4R bumper yet, but as far a fit and finish, if the 05+ and the 12+ Tacomas are any indication, the 4R fit will be awesome as well.
I had an 07 aluminum and some of the other Ohana here in Hawaii have steel and aluminum in various years as well. Saving some $$ for an eventual Aluminum 4R, but one guy I know will be ordering one before the end of the year...

Aluminum Bumper
I like it. It weighs much less than a steel bumper. The BudBuilt is 101 pounds, if they make one for the 2015. The ShrockWorks is 137#. A couple other bumpers I found don't list the weights. One is made from 1/8 steel plate on the outer skin for less weight but it's thinner than the rest.
The aluminum welding looks solid and really fine.
The exterior lines look really clean. It fits close in size to the OEM bumper so it will still fit in my garage.
I don't imagine there's room to add upper grill and headlight loops as an option due to the shallow, contoured design.
I think the fog lamp cut-outs could have been circular (actually oval at an angle) for a better look that matches the lines of the T4R.
The Aluminum tabs for the D-ring shackles cantilever out from the inside frame supports for good strength but maybe these could use a gusset plate at the bottom or both sides to reduce bending fatigue. They appear to be very thick though.
What grill goes in the larger square opening. I can't tell if that's OEM or a new square grill. Is it included?
Cost is 50% more than the ShrockWorks ($1400). Aluminum costs more than steel. The welding is harder too.

I think I may take the plunge and do one of these bumpers. God help me. I was holding out for steel but aluminum seems good. I may have them make a few changes for mine, specifically the recovery points. I'm not a fan of how they're smaller in the back then the front, so hopefully that's not a big change.

We are currently quoting 8-10 weeks for the bumpers.
It's an easy install-I did it with Tyler on mine & it's really simple! It weighs 62# and does require 2 people to align it w/o scratching, but the mounting on it is simple & straight forward. pelfreybilt

That's because no one has theirs yet!
We released the bumper after pro-typing and were working through bugs before sending it into production. They will be appearing in public come early January Similar threads
