I do. You'll have to look at my 5th gen build thread to see pics of it because I can't post pics here at work.

My experience with them was really good. I've met the Pelfrey's a few times at certain events and they are really great folks. Customer service is top notch before and after the sale. I can totally recommend their products and plan on buying some more stuff from them in the future.

He means several have that bumper and there are already threads out there with lots of info.
 
I just bought my 4runner yesterday with the pelfrey bumper on it so I don't have much experience. I can say I love the look and it is pretty solid piece.

If aluminum works for you then this is one of the best options as the thing is light. Put on a warn winch and light bar and everything fit perfectly along with the bumper. Also comes in a great box + pallet so it'll arrive safely by freight.

Their design blends in with the 4Runner instead of looking like someone stuck some metal on the front of one

I have their aluminum bumper on the front of my 4th gen and it is great.
 
OP was looking for info on the pelfrey bumper, not to debate aluminum bumper designs. I think Chris is a swell guy, and my opinion either way on his product doesn't have relevance to the OP's question.

I have experience with Pelfrey bumpers. I looked at their design before purchasing mine and I dont like it so I did not buy it.

I gave the OP an option that in my opinion is a better product that the OP may not have known about.
 
I guess my question is do you want it for looks or do you want it to be functional? I have a hard time believing that an aluminum bumper is going to be anywhere near as a tough as a steel equivalent. I would bet the aluminum is going to see visible gouges if it takes a scrape rather than just scraping the paint off of a steel bumper.

I hit a coyote and bounced a fairly large Doe off my bumper in SE oregon. I've slammed it down on the rocks in Moab due to some shitty driving, and the bumper is doing fine.

Even pelfrey will tell you if you intend to rock crawl, go steel. If you want a good bumper for overlanding, go aluminum.

I wanted steel so badly, and then realized aluminum was the better choice for my needs.

Aluminum will work well, you just have to understand the right fit for your needs. I can argue both ways.
 
While it's great to have options, there's just so many bumpers to choose from and I can't complain. Just gotta do your research beyond what looks good.

For me the key points were aluminum, NO cutting of the OEM bumper, winch support. Pelfrey pretty much designed theirs satisfying both function and form as best as they could. Especially supporting a 10k winch without any solednoid relocation kits or cutting/moving OEM stuff.

I also like how Pelfrey protects the hardlines (coolant or ac) where other manufactures leave them exposed

Aluminum is not appreciated enough. It depends on the design and type of aluminum. All commercial airlines crew seats are aluminum. And have to pass 16g crash tests. Steel has its place and benefits but it is sure heavy. My 60 pound bumper will protect me just as much as a 150 pound steel bumper will.
