People that have 265/70 size Revo's

I'm finally dumping my stock tires. The snow in Denver today was the last straw. I have a couple questions about the 265/70 Revo's.

1. Did you replace all 5 tires at once?

2. If you only replaced 4, how do you rotate your tires, both front to back, then both back to front, or do you go counter clockwise?

Also, I've searched, but can't find a stock size Revo. If anybody has one, please post it. I'm torn between 65's and 70's...

I have "P" rated 265/70/17 , looks better with the larger tire and they are usually cheaper.

I replaced all 5 but only rotate 4 . Its done at the dealer per the instruction manual.

Go with the bigger size , looks so much better , no problems at all,but change all 5 tires if you go up in size.

You may also want to look at other tires depending on your use.
 
I went 5 tire because on a full time 4 wheel drive if I have to use the spare tire I will have one rotating at a faster speed than others. Not good IMO !!

So, you only rotate the spare in for the v8's with fulltime and front to back with the v6?
 
no, he has to rotate all 5 because he has the v8 AND went up a size. if u dont go up a size u dont have to rotate all 5
 
If you don't go off-road stay with the stock size. They are wider, doesn't affect mpg, alignment, speedometer and you do not have to replace the spare.

I stuck with the stock sizes and only rotate the four road tires. The spare was never in rotation so it was brand new and I couldnt see replacing it.
 
I don't go "off road", but I do take mountain passes and plenty of rocky mountain fire roads. But to say I go "off road", that would be a lie.

Does anybody have a picture of stock size Revo's? Do they look better than the Dunlop's? The Dunlop's look small to me. But it could be my imagination....
 
I only rotate 4 tires. I do it religiously every 5k miles. I know in logic I should do the spare , but ....whatever. I go through tires pretty fast with the miles I put on and ass long as I have a spare the correct size in an emergency thats all I care about.

I went with the 70 series because 1. they were cheaper 2. I like the bigger tire off road look . 3. I do like to go off road . 4. slightly higher ground clearance and stance. The speedo and comp. that runs the car have never been an issue as far as problems. Thats just me , you have to do what works best for you and your application.
 
I'll probably get the Kumho's from the Tire Rack, but I have a question for those who went with the 265/70s that also have a Magnaflow cat back exhaust system.

The space down there is pretty tight even with the stock 265/65 spare. I don't think a 265/70 tire will fit down there, but I might be wrong so that's my question. If you guys with the Magnaflow have replaced all 5, were you guys able to fit the spare in the stock location ?

Me too. Less fuss, and I won't have one tire that's newer for the next 25k (with a crisscross pattern).

Some people sugguest rotating the spare with one side of the vehicle, so there's a two wheel rotation on one side and a three wheel rotation on the other. :confused:

Rotate the one you drive on and just drive !!!!
 
stock Revos

I have a 2006 Sport and changed to the 265-65-17 Revos after I bought the vehicle in May. I went with stock size as I didn't want to get 5 new tires and deal with the speedometer error, etc. Yes, there are more choices with the 70 series but I am quite happy staying with the stock size.

Yup, I just do the front to the back swap and keeping them on the same side. Anything other rotation pattern involves too much thought and takes away from driving the truck IMO. :D
