Perpetually Locked Rear Hatch

Hi all... I wanted to pose a question to someone who may have a wiring diagram for the rear door hatch.

'97 4Runner Ltd.
Recently, upon unlocking doors, noticed the rear hatch remains locked.
At first, thought it was rust /corrosion preventing the latch from disengaging but yesterday I removed the panel to have a better look.

After removing the panel, I was able to determine that dirt was not the culprit and everything seemed to operate normally however, I had a constant 12vdc going into the latching mechanism.

I would think this mechanism wants a pulse of 12 vdc to engage or disengage the lock but could be all wet here.

Can anyone provide a wiring diagram so I can figure out if this electro mechanical latch wants a pulsed DC rather than a constant source ?

Sometime recently, my back window fails to roll down with the key switch as well. Not sure if it is related but something to consider when fooling around back there.

As mentioned, all mechanical components appear to be well lubricated and operates smoothly.
Any insights to where I should be looking?

Here is the later model EWD for the door locks. Colors may be off but it should be very similar to yours. The system is the same. You should check the connector where the wiring harness goes back in to the vehicle from the hatch as well.

Thanks Iball. Much to my chagrin, a remote starter was installed at some point in the truck's previous life. There has been some cutting and splicing going on in the harness.
If I can get it unlocked, I'll live with it and just lock/unlock it with the key when req'd unless the problem jumps out at me.
