I wanted to eliminate the removal and re-installation of parts...this is a simple loosening of one nut.
Not to mention that OEM links on a truck with 160k don't come out so easy...the ball starts to spin when trying to loosen the bottom nut so you gotta hold it on one side with vice grips while whacking the nut with an impact gun- all while the whole rest of the crew is waiting for you...
But...you've never really wheeled, wouldn't expect you to know the hassle...

My old links had an allen head on the other side of the ball (so you don't have to squeeze it in a vise grips. Not sure if yours do too, but I think they all do.

I had the allen head on the end of the stud, but I needed the impact gun to get them off, so I wasnt able to hold it. Even still, I think this is a much simpler design...and at $13

Long time no see!

I think this is the longest I've gone without an update...I haven't even been on here much, nor have I really done anything new to Summer. I did, however perform one of the most hated mods you can do on these trucks- aftermarket headlights (with my HIDs).
I was getting sick of looking at my battered abd bruised OME headlights and I got a great deal on those ebay black housings with the black corners so I took the plunge. These have been sitting around for over a month, waiting for me to put in an order at the retrofit source, but I don't have another spare 250 at this time so I just went and installed them...

Usually, those things are god awful. Black trucks, cool... but usually any other color, they look like ****.

However, between the black TJM/bars, black grille portion, scoop, etc, it actually fits pretty well.

One thing Silver pulls off nicely is black accents.

Lookin good.

Okay update: I took her out at night for the first time with the new headlights and WOW.
Now I've heard everyone say how bad these are, and I was always the "meh how bad could it be?" guy...well anyone looking to buy these listen up
THE LIGHT OUTPUT IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC
I can't even believe these are DOT...I'm leaving this guys a sh!t review...
