Photobucket Update

I use and love Smugmug (x 5 years now). It is $40 a year, but it is ad free, fast, very intuitive, excellent mobile app...etc.

If you are interested in joining use my referral code, it saves both of us a little.

If you want to see how it looks my smugmug account is linked in my signature, below.

Thanks! When I get to work next week I'm going to see if smugmug works on my PC. If it does, I'm totally signing up. Honestly, even if it doesn't work at work, I'll probably sign up just because I need a photo hosting site.

I'm sorry but I stopped using photobucket around 10 years ago. It's just a terrible site overall and I'm not surprised this is happening now. Personally I have been using Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet for the last 5 years now with no problems besides their crappy app being a pain. Honestly one of the best photo sharing sites I've ever used.

Just wanted to say thanks again for the code. I used it today to sign up. So far Smugmug works great on all my devices and even works on my company PC. Now I just need to start moving everything over and repairing the threads PB screwed up.

Your galleries are great BTW! I really miss my KLR looking through your trips.

This is why you upload photos as attachments & not use a photo hosting site.

have you figured out how to do that, and choose the pic placement? with a direct link of some kind?

ive tried it, and I cant put the pic where I want it.

another site im on does in house hosting, but you can use their direct link to place the pic wherever. when I tried the same thing on here, it doubled the pic, and still didn't allow proper placement. thus I went to PB.

It's easy, I've used attachments on every forum I've been on. The beginning of my build thread is attachments & then a few pages are PB because I liked the way you could put lines of text between the pics. I then switched to Flicker because of all the annoying pop up ads on PB. I think I'll be going back to attachments even though you can only put 3 pics per post & no text between pics.

yes, that is what I meant about being able to choose the pic location.

it makes it harder to use for doing technical write-ups. its usually nice to have the photos in order, along with the accompanying text. that's the exact reason I stopped going it that way and went to PB. this sucks.

I posted earlier in this thread and had no functionality issues at the time, but I received an email from photobucket regarding 3rd party usage and the extortion fee of $400 for 3rd party image hosting access. Tried posting a photo today and no dice.

I just signed up on Flikr, but can't embed an image on T4R.org, it only lets me post a URL link to the Flikr page. I tried in the IOS Flikr app and on Safari logging into the Flikr.com classic site. My work computer has Windows 7 and using Chrome I found the link that I need to access to embed, but it's just not present on my iPhone

Any IOS users using Flikr able to embed photos?

I just tried Flickr as well and I have the same issue.

Imgur is an annoying app that I don't like using, so that's out too. Need to find something as simple as Photobucket but without the bullshit. Sigh...f***in Photobucket...

Yep, just tried to use Flickr today and its no dice... It worked fine a couple days ago in my build thread. Idk whats going on but its getting ridiculous.

For Flickr I edit the big code it gives me after I paste it. Delete everything except what is between
. It worked 2 days ago.

Photobucket was easy, wasn't it?! They really screwed the pooch on this one.

Was this on an Apple product? The only thing available is a URL on my iPhone, which posts a link to the picture. On the desktop version (non IOS), it gives you the option to grab the other codes with "IMG" already included in the code, i.e.: Embed, BB code, etc.

Ok, so I paste the same link in this thread and it works:

<a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/152183832@N02/35115619543/in/album-72157683582134893/" title="IMG_5028"><img src="https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4319/35115619543_88ebfc0363_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="IMG_5028"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

but when I try it in my for sale thread it doesn't work...

Besides flickr and imgur, are there any other alternatives? Flickr in my previous experience is good/bad with forums, and imgur is quite annoying.

I've been thinking google docs or google pictures, but it seems like we can't share to a forum... unless someone has a workaround for it...

Imgur uploading from the browser seems to work fine for me.
