I was at the fair on Monday and I saw the new 4r's And like others I am not so sure about them. I think it is going to have to grow on me, or I am going to end up with a Sequoia. In another post it was said how the doors feel civic like. I do agree although I have a 2005 and they sound about the same. I do like the fabric on the Trail, it has a very nice feel to it. The knobs are not as cheap looking as they do in the photos. I would compare the quality to my 2005. The knobs do have a nice feel to them. And as a number of people had hoped the trail does have the 4wd shift lever not a dial like in the limited.

All 4r's have mast antenna's and none of them are retractable. The gas filler door is not lockable like the 4th gen. It is only a pull open door from the outside. I do not like the slide out tray. I takes a lot of height from the back of the truck. About 3" and there is a gap around the edges so things can fall around the edges. Poorly thought out in my opinion. The SR5 had the third row in it. It also takes up lots of space, height wise in the back. This truck is really just our 4th gen reworked. As far as I can tell the basic 4th gen is all there, they just added all new sheet metal, motor, and interior. For the most part I do like it. It is very over priced for what you get though. I thought that I had brought my camera to work so I could post photos, but I will have to wait until tonight when I get home tonight.

It has KDSS, locking rear diff, live axle rear suspension, many different 4WD modes, more HP, better gas mileage, more uniform underbody (about 2" more ground clearance), better approach angle, better exterior design... shall I go on? It is a LOT different from the 4th gens.

Am I wrong? It advertises 9.6" instead of 9.1. We all know the previous 9.1" was really about 7.1". I emailed them and they said that the underbody was more uniform in the front as well as more tucked under.

That was the Runner that was tested on trails in Moab and yes,it took a beating and kept on ticking.

sorry I couldn't get the photos on here directly. the only way I could figure out to get them on a site was to post it to my facebook. If anyone can tell me a better way I will get them posted. And actually the silver one that is beat to s**t is the one we all saw in the camoflage pictures a few months ago. This must have been the mule they had been using for awhile. The dust on the dash was thick.:worthless
