PIAA Light Wiring ?

I am getting ready to purchase a Defiant light bar and a set of PIAA 520 aux. lights, I would like to wire the aux. lights to be activated with the high beams. I did some searching on here and got just enough info. to really confuse me. I read that you don`t want to power the aux. lights from the high beams, but tap into them to activate the switch and power the lights from the battery. I was wondering if anybody has done a write up on this with the 5th gen.
I do not want a separate switch for the aux. lights, I had this on my Taco. and I hated it.
I hope this is pretty easy to do, if not I may have a shop to it.

Attached is my setup for my PIAA 60'XT's—your lamps should be similar. I've made zero cuts into the OEM wiring. To do what you're planning will require—at a maximum—the male and female 9005 sockets, along with a suitable relay and fuse. If you choose to remove a bit of insulation from the OEM wires you can skip the sockets. You can also skip the wire into the cab and ground it under the hood. Skip all the wiring associated with the fog lamps too.

It's a real simple modification.

Thanks! I am no wiring expert so I had to take a few minutes to figure out that diagram. The 20A relay that is labeled Driving lamps, is that a factory relay already present or is that aftermarket? If it is a factory relay, where is it located?
The 40A fused circuit for the battery connection is that included with the PIAA light kit? This actually looks pretty easy, I usually find out that once I get all of the pieces laid out it will make even more sense.

I have no idea what is included with your PIAA 520's. I provided the micro relay labled 'Driving Lamps'. The 40A fused circuit is nothing but a connection to the (+) post of the battery with a 40 amp fuse in series. With just your driving lamps likely a 20 amp fuse will do. I've attached a stripped down version of the drawing. If needed, I can make it even simpler.

Nobody ever asked! Attached is the even simpler way to light the driving lamps with the high beams. The driving lamps come on with the high beams—always.
