Piaa's out

Hi chaps and mates..

tonight when I was taking out the trash, I had to move some cars around..

I turned my headlights + Piaa's on... but monumentally, the Piaa's quit..

no power to it, the leds on the switch is even out (no green or red)

my question is, where do I start to trace the problems?

I swap the fuse and still no juice..

I'm going email Piaa about this and see if the warranty still works..

if can't be repaired, I might go for an pair of Lightforce's..

for the Lightforce's, would you recommend the 170's or the 240's?

Is there power making it to the fuse?

Where did you tap the power from? I would check that...

I will need to ran an test light or volt meter in the mornings to see if there is power to the fuse..

I believe the power the tapped from the battery itself..

I would go back out and check but is getting a bit cold outside..

Lights not working and switch not illuminating? I would have done exactly what you did and changed the fuse. It could easily be a loose or bad ground, but after looking that over I'd check to see if the relay is getting juice from the 12v. Could be a bad relay at that point.

Yeah the switch not lighting up makes me think that it's not an issue with the lights themselves.

Where is your ground? Is it still grounded? lol...

I will have to find out where the ground is.. is been over a while since I touched the wiring on the Piaa's lol.. these lights are literally the best bang for the buck.. owned it for the last 12 years and only burned through 1 set of bulbs during those years..

it might have came un-done while I was having some 'fun' lol

so I got a chance to check it out today

turns out it was the relay... looks like I'm going to replace it..

Going to Piaa a call tomorrow morning and see if i can have them ship one out asap..

can't beat an 12 years old light with lifetime warranty.

It is probably the bulbs. They often burn out together, it happened to me.

PIAA will honor a 1 year warranty on the bulbs. Call them and open a warranty case. They will ask you to email them a copy of your receipt and provide your shipping address. They will mail you bulbs without requiring anything else on your end.


EDIT: if you solved it then congrats. I just thought it might have been the bulbs.
