Yeah, without the spacer, it has a slight rake unloaded which I like... loaded down with gear etc. will make it perfectly level. Best of both worlds and never a "reverse" rake.

It is stiff... I won't lie. I am running the OME shocks along with the coils. Even with the 60028 ("Comfort") shocks the rear unloaded is pretty stiff and firm. I knew it would be going in... and it is not my Daily Driver, so it's fine. The best annology I can come up with is like a tuned sports car in terms of on road manners and ride... i.e. Corvette etc in terms of the response over bumps etc.

In all honesty if it was my DD, I would probably be looking at different shocks at least in the rear. Keep that in mind. I think you have to weigh what you are looking for in your suspesion to make sure you are happy.

Kruegs, thanks again. I was planning on running them with Bilstein HD's. I ran 906's with the Billys on my other 4Runner. It was stiff but not overbearing.

I'm running the ome settup with no top plate spacer. also will give you an idea of what it looks like with stock 265/70/16 tires. I have close to 200 lbs in the back at all times so mine looks pretty level

Benedict, it's coming along nicely. I remember when you first posted this thing a few months back. Good work. And thanks, I'll be running the 265/70's for a while yet too.

I can't bring myself to get new tires since the ones on it are almost brand new and they are that bad of tires. I'll probably get a set of 285's when I have some extra cash laying around. lol I had an excuse to get my lift, both of my rear shocks were broken

Rick, looks good. Same color as mine too. What tires are you running in those pics? Love those wheels too.

Oh nice! I actually like the Desert Dune colour a lot.... it hides my "rocky mountain pin-striping". I am running 265/75/16 BFG KM2's in those pics, and yes LC80 wheels kick a$$.

Check out my review thread if you want some opinions on the 881/890 lift. View it here: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/101758-rickashays-ome-vs-trd-tundra-lc-review.html

PitbullRescuer- I'm sure you've seen this but here's a permalink to an old post of mine using TRD/890 setup.

I have ridden in a rig with the 890/OME comfort shocks in the rear and it road quite a bit harsher than my 890/Bilstein HD rear setup. The 890/Bilstein HD setup does not feel stiff at all to me and I drive unloaded most the time. When it is loaded with 100-200lbs in back, it rides like a Cadillac. It does not feel anything like a sport suspension on a car. My cars ride much stiffer than the 4Runner. The suspension on the 4Runner travels several inches over large speed bumps and the rear 890 setup even compress down to the bump stops which can attest to how soft the springs really are. On rough roads and on chopped up snow/ice, the 5100/HD setup with Tundra TRD/890s cruises right over without tossing anyone around.

Since you've already experienced 906/HD's on your other 4Runner, I'd say the main difference you'll see with using 890/HD's would be a softer ride with slightly more body roll/sway due to being 1/2" taller and with softer spring rates.

As for the front, I'd say you can't go wrong with either 881 or Tundra TRD coils. They both have similar spring rates (TRD's being progressive). I don't have experience with the 881's, but I've also never seen a negative review about them unlike the OME comfort shocks for the rear.

On another note - My Destination A/T passenger load rating tires ride much firmer than my Altimax Artic winter tires. Keep this in mind when reading member reviews/posts on suspension setups. Sometimes their complaints about being too overly stiff maybe due to the fact that some of them are running E-load rated tires designed for much heavier trucks.

Tundra TRDs upfront and OME 890 rear

Here are a few pics with the Tundra TRD Pro upfront and OME 890s in rear, no spacers or trim packers. This should give you and idea of the ride height with weighty steel bumpers front and rear.

The first two pics are with 265/70/R16 and the third pic is after I got new shoes running 265/75/R16.

Hope this helps.

Love the look of this. Planning on running this set-up once money allows to compensate for sagging due to my bumper. What’s your hub-to-fender measurements with the bumpers on?

I just went out to the garage and took measurements. There's 22.5 inches from hub center to the fender in the rear and the front is just a hair over 22 inches.
